If I had one word to describe this film, the word interesting comes to mind. It's one of those movies that will make you laugh, but give you nightmares at the same time. Overall, Sandler stars in a decent film, but not anywhere near his cla$$ics like Water Boy, Happy Gilmore, or Billy Madison. However, it was better than some of his films, particularly the more recent ones. I liked this better than Chuck and Larry, even though I wasn't fond of it to begin with. Anyways, this movie has great, typical humor that will probably guarantee you a laugh. However, this movie goes way overboard in a weird way...more than once you'll be in disbelief of what you just saw. Looking back on those disturbing scenes, I laugh. They are hilarious, but at first you'll be scarred temporarily. Anyways, this movie didn't have the most fantastic story behind it, but that doesn't make me upset. For me, a good comedy generally has some sort of plot, but not some thorough concept that you'd have to watch seven times to understand. You Don't Mess with the Zohan had its story, but I won't get into it just to completely avoid spoiling the movie at all. It will make you laugh with the constant sex-related jokes, especially if you are a teenager much like myself. Also, for those teens out there, I recommend you see this movie with a friend and not your parents. I could only imagine how uncomfortable I'd be watching this around them. Nonetheless, it is a pretty decent film that will probably keep you entertained throughout the entirety of it.

Just after a week of debate on Adam Sandler's talent, those who said he wasn't were proved wrong by the release of "You Don't Mess With the Zohan". I can honestly say that it is one of the funniest movies I've seen so far this year, besides Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Adam Sandler is Zohan, an Israeli soldier who fakes his death to go to New York City and make the world "silky smoothe". Adam Sandler is very, very funny in this. After he gets to New York he sees that Israelis and Palestines are also fighting in America, not just back in the Middle East. Then there's the corny happily ever after ending with peace between Jews and Muslims, and talk of corrupt businessmen and racist rednecks. Of course the movie is idiotic, and I wouldn't even call it a film, more like one of those mock videos on Saturday Night Live, but I just had a really good time laughing out loud for practically two hours.

This movie is so wrong, and so right. The rapid fire jokes hit like a shotgun, some hit the target and others miss by a longshot. The movie scored constant laughs, but there were plenty of jokes that just completely fell flat. However, it is relentless in it's attempt at the funny so while it misses a lot, it scores more than enough times to have you laughing a lot. It's a funny movie full of absolutely random, and ridiculous humour. If you're looking for something intellectual, forget it. If you're in a good frame of mind, you can really get into this and enjoy it. It is dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. But if you go into an Adam Sandler film expecting anything more, then you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. I liked it.

Although Zohan had its good parts I think it missed it's mark. Adam Sandler movies are usually my favourites but Zohan was filled with some just stupid stuff like you'd find in some horrid spoof movie. The cameos were good and the whole hacky sack...
