Seeing as how the religious nut was in the original novella...you had to have her in the movie. She's supposed to piss you off.

In all honesty this movie would have garnered another star had it not had the annoying religious woman who took over the movie for about a half hour. *Spoiler ahead* Also, it would have gotten only one and a half stars had she not been shot in the gut, and then square in the forehead.

With that out of the way, The Mist was a movie that was average at best. The story was pretty simple, a "Mist" moves into town and a group of townsfolk are stuck in a Grocery Store. A small group bands together to try to escape from the religious group that has formed inside the store.

This movie would have been far better had the religious parts been left out, however it is still a decent movie. The ending was pretty predictable, however some people may be surprised by how it ends.

Plot : Deadly mist surrounds a grocery store and forces the people inside to co-operate to survive.

Story : From the trailer this had already looked like a great idea for a movie - with it's competition for the genre being the George Romero survival/zombie films. Though the people are a much bigger focus here than any other film similar to this. The film happens in chapters with each segment fading to black when it's over. Though I do enjoy that the film wants to focus on it's characters as a top priority : it tends to go far away from any realistic social motivation. Even when you think about how dumb some of the situations are - it's still a fun movie for the most part

Visuals : Pretty good for the most part , though I would like more bigger shots of many people rather than the frequent use of close up shots. The CGI bugs and birds work very good and the action scenes are a lot of a fun. The store is also a very good location for the movie and it's used to most of it's potential. Synopsis : The best survival/horror film I've seen - though it's cheesy situations leave me only half fulfilled.

An awesome movie. I love the fact that it lingers and that you really get to experience the atmosphere in the shop. The horror just creeps up on you...
The ending alone makes this movie one to watch!!!
