But seriously, who the hell cared? The only thing everyone was worried about was: Who is Anton killing next? I thought the movie was wrongly focused on Anton's killing spree, instead of the persecution of Edd Tom for Anton and Llewelyn's worries of being found. Perhaps less violence would have made the film some justice. I can't help but think...Didn't There will be blood deserve the Oscar more than No country for old men? I suppose that's for each one of us to decide

This is a great film, one that, if taken at face value, will completely fly above your head. If you're the kind of person who likes to decrypt movies after their runtimes conclude, then this is definitely the film for you. If, however, you are looking for a more immediate (repeat: not shallow) experience, then the movie is still good, but not brilliant. All in all it's a great character study, but I wasn't wowed the way critics and users promised.

Javier Bardem's performance is just downright scary and brilliant. It had a good plot and was also directed brilliantly by the Coen brothers. Highly recommended to everyone

I felt like they were trying for the quirkiness of Fargo but missed it by a mile? Not a bad movie but not a whole lot of great in there either.

How utterly depressing. The Coens have built a nihilistic world that is very engrossing, and I was riveted to the movie from beginning to end. I'm not sure I like the ending, but I understand it based upon the movie's premise. I spent most of the movie hoping there was grace somewhere between the stupidity of Llewellyn Moss to the coldness found with Anton Chigurh but the Coens refused to budge anywhere. Even Anton wasn't spared from the violence.

A lot of people have shared mixed reactions about the film, I personally think that it was a decent movie, but could have been improved.
Especially the ending, the ending of the movie makes you think, what the f--k.

There have been a variety of different theories shed upon how the film eded but let us move on.
No Country for Old Men dleivers a slightly above average cast, some actors stand out and some drop the ball. And Tommy Lee Jones perfects another solid role and Josh Broelin was alright.
But the actor that standed out the most in this film was Javier Bardem. He easily was the best.
He managed to pull of his portrayal with ease.
He really sent shivers down my spine!

The story takes place when a man (Josh Broelin) finds three trucks and a load of dead people.
He also happens to find a case containing $2 million dollars.
Now he is running for his life upon his discovery and the money that he now posses.
Tommy Lee Jones plays a police officer whom is close to retirment. And Bardem plays a cold-blooded killer who is trying to hunt down Broelin and retrieve the money.

The action provides mediocre thrills and in some moments you will be wondering what will happen next or will somebody get killed.
While this is all good, but it just isn't what you will be suspecting.
Most of the critics were wrong about this movie in my honest opinion. Just isn't the wonderful masterpiece that you might be expecting.

In conclusion, it all depends on your tastes in movies. It aslo depends on your attention span too.
Should check it out, I suggest you wait until it is released on Dvd then go rent it out and watch it. It will save you your money, take my advice.

I really wanted to enjoy this film. I really did. But alas, it left me disappointed. Javier Bardem was perfect and deserved his Oscar winning performance - his character is truly terrifying, and one of the best villains since Hannibal. The acting, in general, was superb, but that alone can't make a great movie. I thought that there were many holes in the story, matched with sheer dumb luck - for example Bardem only found Room 138 by pure chance - the transponder only seems to register within half a kilometre.

The ending has generated many complaints, especially when the novel from which it is based resolves many of the issues that weren't in the film. I too, felt let down by the ending, and did feel slightly cheated.

The Coen Brothers have done a good job, but I just thought that some of the suspense of the film was lost in a couple of the slower places of the film.

With about fifteen minutes less, and a tighter direction and editing, this could have been a brilliant film. I really can't see why it won Best Picture.
