A throwback - this film satisfied every part of my film-fan soul. For a period piece, the story was compelling. For a morality play, the scenery and cinematography was beautiful. For an ensemble movie, the individual performances stood out. I was blown away by Gruffud as the agonizing idealist, Wilberforce, and Cumberbatch as the much more realistic William Pitt, youngest PM ever. I'm sorry that more people won't get to see it - many people in the states won't even consider going to a film if they don't immediately recognize anyone in the trailers (except Harry Potter's headmaster). Unless there are car chases and explosions, of course.
