Why would you name a movie war when there really is no war. Its sill yactually the title. The story is of an agent whose partner is killed by a mystery assassin. So the agent spends years of his career trying to find the assassin. Just when he is about to give up he finds clues to the killer and he goes out of his way to find him. Stathom plays the agent and li well its hard to explain is character without ruining the movie. To say that the story is convaluted is an understatement. This is a poorly done movie which is really not worth a viewing. Unless you only like mindless action then you should love this film. If you like story and acting skip this one. There are a few twists and turns which actually only make the movie more confusing that clearing anything up. Poorly done movie poor title just plain poor skip it.

Less fighting, more gunfires .. and for those who's like to know, that really hot chick's name is "Megan"!! Megan F. Ha Ha .. Pretty entertaining nonetheless (and a really twisted ending), could've put more KungFu, but oh well, there's always be War II ... :)

The stunts only kept the movie perky and vibrant. But they could do better than this especially they have acquired both these very talented gents. I’d like to forget that I watched it in a movie house and I will not plan acquiring the DVD copy once it is release.

I don’t know why in America the called the film War! How unoriginal and silly! You would think a film with Jet Li and Jason Statham would be a good mix. They do have a good bond together on screen but Jason’s acting at times is very static and lacks real emotions. As for the whole film, that acting has taken a second nature and there is no real aggression in the faces of any star.

The photography was fairly decent, the effects, cars and action was all very well done. At times they really needed to slow things down so you could see what was going on. It seems the director managed to constructed a fairly good movie, but the script really lacked depth. All the film is, is battle between the Japanese and the Traid clans, the storyline comes out at the end and only the end and enough wasn’t thrown in during the rest of the film.

There was no where near enough Kung Fu fighting and too many guns graced the screen yet again. The beautiful fluid movements of Jet Li is no-where in site and at the end of the film there is somewhat a feeling, so what happens now. It was a good ending in it’s own way, but I would have to say that could of been so much better.

War almost constantly fails to impress.

Just the fact that Jason Statham and Jet Li are in a movie, billed to fight each other, should be promising enough to guarantee an $8.50 well spent on a night at the movies. Unfortunately, everything that happens feels like it stops short of being as cool as it could have been.

War has everything you would expect from a movie like this (dudes getting shot in the head, a car chase, crap getting blown up, etc.), but the problem is that you've seen everything that's done here before, and done much better. This leads to every "memorable" action scene to be utterly forgettable.

The acting and narrative are mediocre, and these things aren't always necessary to movies like this, but it definitely would have helped in War's case.

I didn't have a bad time watching War, it's just that I was always frustrated because it felt like I only got to see half of what I wanted. The movie builds up for an hour and 14 minutes to an unfufilling climax, and then you forget you ever saw it.

The twist near the end might have been more interesting if the movie had been better, and the ending was bad. So I think I'm being nice and giving the movie 2 stars. If you're thinking about seeing this movie, don't. Just go rent some classic John Woo movies for some great action.
