This is a very interesting movie based on an "innocent" man being accused of terrorism. Its a bunch of stories being told at once with an ending to be honest that is confusing. Witherspoon plays the wife of the man who is accused....

This is a very interesting movie based on an "innocent" man being accused of terrorism. Its a bunch of stories being told at once with an ending to be honest that is confusing. Witherspoon plays the wife of the man who is accused. Gyllenhaal plays the american who is observing the questioning. Its more like torture but its government sponsored. Now part of what makes this movie touchy is that it shows the america allows the torture to go on and not do anything to protect one of its citizens. You could make a good argument that they even get involved in the torture. The acting is well done with good actors abound. The only problem I really had with the movie is the ending. It seemed to me that the makers of this movie wanted some kind ofhook so they threw this ending out there. It actually confused what was a pretty good movie up until that point. If you can forgive the ending this is a pretty good movie worth a viewing. Part of what makes this movie good is that you really do not expect anything from it. Once you start to watch it you see that its pretty good then the ending kills the momentum it had for it.

I actually did not intend to go an watch this movie, but when after leaving the theater I had no regrets. The acting exceeded excellent.

Well acted movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Reese Witherspoon and Meryl Streep. Unfortunately, the script doesn't match the quallity of the actors and takes a serious issue, confounds it with a love story and ends with an improbable ending...

A very good movie. I have found this movie very powerful and interesting. The actors in this movie are great as well. This movie is about a husband taken from his family without anyone knowing because he was a suspected terroris. A really good movie!

It's a story of the brutality of politics but the only brutality I found in it was having to sit through it. Meryl Streep, the woman of wonders, has a total screen time of maybe less than 15 minutes. This is one of those movies you know generates alot of Oscar Buzz but turns out to be a flop. Then, as if there wasn't enough confusion in thiss very dull film, the two parallel stories turn out to be in seperate time frames. So when you thought that the two lovebirds in the movie had no connection to the story, turns out there is. The way Rendition played the two stories was terrible, because you think that this is all happening at the same time. It is not interesting, and it is most definitely not Oscar worthy.

  About two-thirds of the way through, Rendition takes a bad turn and sells out most of what made it worth watching in the first place. Witherspoon is given little to do except look weepy, Freeman's change of heart is Q.E.D., and the radical Islamist subplot overwhelms the action, which becomes so confusingly structured that I thought the projectionist had misplaced a reel.
