Im going to say that you should see it once, and never see it again. Other then that this has some of the funnist scenes in any other type of movie I know. Its worth checking out.

pretty funny kind of strange and awkward but still funny will ferrel and the guy from nepolion dynamite do a good job of making this probebly the best figure skating movie ever made but sometimes it can be stale

I caught Blades of Glory on my way out to Vegas last summer. Pretty funny movie. As absurd the idea is of an all male pairs skating team, this movie is just as absurd. Will Ferrell rules as adult movie star / figure skating phenomenon Chaz Michael Michaels. And how can you get a better name than that?!? Jon Heder plays the "lady" in this one as the more gracefully inclined Jimmy MacElroy. The two are banned from men's figure skating and exploit a loophole in the system to get back into competition. The movie pretty much just chronicles their rise from the ashes, their training, and their attempted mastery of an impossible skating move. I think it was just about on par with Talladega Nights, but definitely better than Anchorman. Oddly enough, the male on male skating never gets old. There are definitely corny moments, but it is overall an entertaining movie.

Wow, I never expected this movie to be as funny as it really was. It was a good comedy, one of the best since Borat.

Wow, I never expected this movie to be as funny as it really was. It was a good comedy, one of the best since Borat.
Blades of Glory:

The movie stars John Heder as Jimmy Macoroy and Will Ferell as Chaz Michaels. The movie starts out with Jimmy skating at an orphanage when Mr. Macoroy adopts Jimmy. Then eventually goes to Jimmy skating as an adult in an arena. When Jimmy finishes, Chaz is up. He skates with vulgar and sexual poses and licks someone in the audience. As the scores tally up, Jimmy and Chaz are tied. They share the 1st place position on the 1st place pedestal. Jimmy knocks Chaz off and it starts a big fight between them and ends when a lit torch knocks over and puts a mascot on fire, then hear nothing but hear a little girl weep. They both go to court and get stripped of their medals and cant skate in their division anymore and Jimmy's father un-adopts him. Three years later Jimmy has a job at an ice skating store while Chaz skates in a show called "Grublets on Ice". Jimmy's friend tells him he was just banned in his division so he can still skate in pairs. So Jimmy goes down to "Grublets on Ice" to look for a female skater but unexpectedly runs into Chaz and yet they start another fight and they both get sent to jail. A skating coach of Jimmy's watches the fight on the news and thinks somehow they together can make it in figure skating. He bails them out and registers them for a pair team in figure skating and they end up living together.
There is a rival team, a brother and sister team, (Can't think of the names right now) who Jimmy and Chaz face in their next skating event. Jimmy and Chaz get a good enough score so that way they can compete in the Winter Olympic Games XX but so do the brother and sister pair. They train really hard and then their coach shows them a video of a pair attempting a dangerous move called The Iron Lotus. For the next while they practice that move, Jimmy being the one endangered.
Jimmy dates the sister of the rival team, but Jimmy doesn't date someone in the rival team, a sister related to the rival team. The rival team's sister is forced to spy on Jimmy and Chaz's training but her brother tell her to stop dating Jimmy and have sex with Chaz. The sister tells Chaz to meet up with her. He does. Chaz is a sex addict, (That explains why he skates the way he does) so he keeps squeezing her breasts and he can't help it. A few seconds later, Jimmy walks in on them and yells "Impure!" a few times and runs off somewhere. Chaz goes back to his hotel room and keeps trying to call Jimmy on his cell and apologize but Jimmy dosen't pick up.
It's the next day, the day of their preformance at the Olympic Games. And Jimmy is already there. Chaz's coach calls him, wakes him up, tells him he is getting late. So he gets dressed, and gets a cab, but only to get hit by the driver with a metal bat, the brother of the rival team. He takes Chaz to a warehouse for skate equipment, and he's tied up to a chair. He cuts the rope with a skate behind him. He actually catches up to the brother, he chases Chaz, and at the end of the chase, he falls into a frozen lake. Meanwhile, the sister of the rival team grabs Jimmy, and handcuffs him in a bathroom stall so he can't get out, and the sister throws out the key in a garbage can. A kid comes in the bathroom, and Jimmy asks him for help, and the kid gets scared and yells "Stranger Danger! Stranger Danger!", accidentally knocking over the garbage can as he runs out. A toilet paper roll rolls on the ground with a bunch of yucky stuff on it, and near the end of the roll was the key eventually eating the roll until he got the key and got himself out onto the arena. Suddenly, Chaz appears frozen, dirty, and yells "I did not sleep with her. She is not a whore!". He yelled in a way loud enough that everybody could hear him. He only has a few seconds to get on the ice so he rips off his jock strap and puts it on a wire and hangs on and slides down to the ice. Then he throws it into the audience and a girl catches it and smells it.
Chaz ducks out of camera view for 5 seconds then pops up clean and changed into his jumpsuit. They skate.....

As they skate the sister of the rival team rips her pearl necklace off, grabs a peral, and throws it onto the ice just as about they were going to attempt The Iron Lotus. Chaz gets it caught in his skate and brakes his ankle. Now Jimmy has to throw Chaz into the air instead of vice-versa as originally intended. They proceed, Jimmy throws Chaz up in the air, and as they do the final part of the Iron Lotus, Jimmy barley cuts some blades of hair off his face and they make it instead of accidentally cutting off his head like the accident.

They have won the competition. Everybody is off their feet in the audience as the first man-man pair figure skating team have won the gold!

Earlier Chaz shows Jimmy all his tattoos as each one told a story. He had one of a lone wolf because he said he always roams alone. But now he has a picture of Jimmy right by the wolf and he said he is like the brother he never had. They float into the air somehow and then the credits rolled in.
My Final Thoughts:

Blades of Glory was full of nonstop laughs and weird antics that kept me and my brothers to keep wanting to watch more and more into the movie as the plot was thickening and as it was getting more hystarical! Final Score: 3 and 1/2 stars out of 5.

Blades of Glory is probably one of the worst movies of the year if not the worst. It isn't funny, it's plain stupid, and extremely homophobic. And these characters were gay but I guess to save face the studio decided to make them straight, yet they hold each other's genitals.

The story is about Jimmy (Jon Heder) and Chaz (Will Farrell). They are two skaters who get in a fight and are banned from singles skating. They find a loophole and work together while holding each other's nuts.

I don't have a problem with Jon Heder, I do how ever have a huge problem with Will Farrell. The man is not funny and charming. He is an idiot who needs to come out of the closet. Don't see Blades of Glory.

Very stupid. Funny a little bit, sometimes. I thought this would be really funny, it wasn't. It's really cheesey. I don't mind that sometimes, but this was bad. So bad. I give it an "L" for lame.

This was not a really cool movie as everyone says. Its an OK type of movie for me. There were some funny scenes and the story was god. But somehow I didnt like it.

Is it just me or does Will Ferrell play the same type of character in every movie. It's just getting repetitive, boring and Will Ferrell is not funny as he once was.
