'The Hitcher' remake is a terrible film. A film whose gratuitous gore cannot even redeem anything - not that it really should if you're going to judge a film accurately, but still. While I haven't seen the original 'Hitcher', this remake is a typical new Hollywood remake that holds a magnifying glass to gratuitous gore, and incredibly cheap scares. A film totally devoid of any artistic intent or merit, and a film which serves no other purpose than to shock and scare with violence - although in this case, no one's getting shocked or scared by anything.

Now I have nothing against gratuitous gore in a film if I think the rest of the film has something to show for itself. Hell, I love gore in a movie in any shape or form, but this film is just so incredibly unintelligent that I don't think there's a single thing that can possibly redeem it. Don't watch this film, don't give your money to it, otherwise films like this will continue to be made.

Entertaining movie but not the scariest thing in town. The cast is top notch though with Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings), Neal McDonough (Band of Brothers) and Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill).

Another day another remake. This one of a decent horror film of the same name. From what I can recall this is not a straight remake in the sense that it does not follow the original movie so much. I think it follows the basic premise and of course it has the same name. This movie is about 2 people picking up a hitchhiker. The hitchhiker ends up being a psycho and he puts them through hell to say the least. Acting in this movie is average and there are some special effects. I really think what this movie lacks is tension and suspense. Also believability is lost in this movie with the hitcher becoming a terminator type of person who can go through everything. The ending is fairly predictable. I really cannot reccommend this movie because as a horror film its not very good. There are many better films out there then this one.

I don't know why such a low score. I thought it was a great suspense terror movie. I would recommend for those who likes horror or something thrilling.
