Sequels have done after a movie is a success or either wanting its expectations. Throughout the past years, the movie industry has decided to return to that classic reneditions of old movies and remake them or to make another sequel for them. Suffice to say, the technology back then wasn't the quality like for example, the Star Wars Series, but lacks its potential to have some nostagia factor into it. Rocky Balboa is a example.

The Rocky movies are in fact, one of the famous series out there, as abbrieved by the theme that is aligned with the movies. The Rocky series has been always about, a low-life boxer, Rocky Balboa whom boxes just for money and does jobs with dealers, along the way, he stumbles across a shy woman, Adrien whom he fall in love with and tries to date her, whom Adrien is a sister of Polly. One day, a manager stumbles across Rocky, and would like to promote him into becoming a real boxer, and throughout the series of Rocky movies, Rocky just tries to defend his title and for his love.

It's not that necessary to make a sequel that is already finished with but this is entirely fanservice to the fans whom are wanting more. In the year 2006, the year that Rocky Balboa is released, Die Hard 4 was released too, making that year, a comeback to the great trilogies ever brought to life. But it didn't, it doesn't make any nostagia at all.

Even though the nostagia isn't quite there, Rocky Balboa serves to be quite a formiable enjoyment. Or Fanservice really. The story begins after Adrien died of oval cancer, and Rocky revisiting some old familiar sites from the previous movies, while having flashbacks, Rocky is trying to re-live the dream he kept for Adrien, but Polly says to be in the present. In dedication of his deceased wife, he opened a restaurant with her name, "Adrien's". Enter Dixon, a successful boxer whom never gotten a defeat in boxing, after an animated version of Dixon and Rocky fighting, the animated version of Rocky claimed victorious, and triggered Dixon to have a real match with Rocky. Rocky whom needs to renew his boxing license, fought the way to getting one with his emotions and got into the arena with Dixon with his support and emotions. At the end, Dixon proved to be the victor but lost tragedy at heart at the hands of Balboa.

Stallone's performance in this movie, is quite a doubt, intriguing because he does his own stunts. The fight between the real Dixon and Stallone's character was actually real, Stallone, actually tells the real Dixon to give everything he gots to him. The realism that Stallone delivered into the scene is just impressive and hows he wants to do it. Aside from Stallone, Burt Young whom played the role as Paulie, returns and he is still the same Paulie as the original. There are some cameo appearances in it, that was quite good.

The boxing scene was actually a real life boxing match like you see in your tv, its High-Def, awkward camera shots, commentary and everything that a live boxing match offers. It provides an ultimate realism to the scene on how it impacted on Rocky. The emotional impact deprived from Stallone's character feels really upsetting to understand why he been all this and the suffering he has gone to keep on moving on. It creates a emotional atmosphere similar to its predecessors and Stallone created it well.

Overall, Rocky Balboa is a great movie but not a excellent one, while having some flaws of some characters and too much realism in the movie, it was deprived from the emotional impact that Stallone's character creates and the rivalry between his character and Dixon. This is quite a intriguing movie to watch as well a popcorn one.

Before I saw this movie, I thought it was going to be dumb and one of the worst movie I ever seen. WRONG! Forget what Happen in Rocky 5, Rocky Balboa was really really good. It really had a great boxing scene. And I think it's really a good movie....

Before I saw this movie, I thought it was going to be dumb and one of the worst movie I ever seen. WRONG! Forget what Happen in Rocky 5, Rocky Balboa was really really good. It really had a great boxing scene. And I think it's really a good movie. I really enjoy watching it. I give Rocky Balboa, 4 1/2 Stars.

This is my favourite movie! I have watched a lot of movies and TV shows but this one ca't be replaced! I like it ver very much! Thanks to Silverster! I think that it would be perfect if there will be a new and last movie about Rocky!

Sly Stalone is not a great actor although a very charasmatic guy. A good actor for the character which developed through several movies. This is a long story compared to the first Rocky movie, and understand that its a effergy to Chicago too.
