This film has everything, a brilliant script, an enthralling story line and a great setting.
Dicaprio is brilliant as the anti-hero Danny and also manages to pull off the accent.

Good movie with a good point - take away the good point and its still a good movie.

Its got a lot of good action but the story is real reason to watch it over again. There's a lot of power in the drama it lays out for you and its hard not to get sucked into the character development because you know that this was actually happening.

This movie has so much presence - one of the one's you're still thinking about after its done.

Blood Diamond.. How should I start?
BLOOD DIAMOND was a movie that could have touched the hearts of anyone who watched it, and it was slightly educational. It made us aware that something like this was happening. It was also a violent movie physically and verbally, if you catch my drift.

I thought this movie was one of the best movies I've seen in a while, and I would love to see more like this. It put us in the shoes.. or feet of the people in Sierra Leone and let us see how it is like to have your hands cut off even just for hiding the smallest piece of diamond imaginable. The blood diamond business is cruel.

Also not to forget the child Dia Vandy and Solomon Vandy. Solomon is struggling to find Dia and once he does, it's not a pretty sight.

I thought this was a great movie and I look forward into seeing it again. If the Blood Diamond trade is still going on.. I hope that it ends and no one will ever have to experience something as horrible as that again.

DiCaprio was good with the South African accent, which was convincing enough, aand very emotional scenes between Djimon Hounsou and his son added greatly to the quality of the movie, as well as the surprising ending.

I loved Blood Diamond. I bought the dvd and I still love Blood Diamond. Blood Diamond is a good movie with plenty of good performances especially from Leonardo DiCaprio who channels his character brilliantly and is the best reason to see this film. Hounsou plays his character well too and you really feel for him and his family. Jennifer Connelly plays her character with emotion and understanding even though she basically is the movies conscience to make sure that you aren't buying a conflict diamond that was used to fund a war in Africa. The script is pretty good but, there are some parts to this movie that drag on a bit more than they should have. DiCaprio acts well together with Hounsou creating almost a bond but, only near the end does he realize the truth. The love relationship is done decently and I thought the end could have been different but Leo dies nonetheless. The direction is done well by Zwick and the action is very good. You should see this movie. However, whether or not you'll agree with it's message is entirely up to you.

This is a rousing, entertaining film with an important message. What saddens me is that not much of substance has changed since its release. Conflict diamonds are still being sold. Africans are still being slaughtered and turned into refugees by the thousands. Children are still being forced to commit atrocities. When will it ever end?

I know that I, for one, will never look at diamonds the same way again. And I will never knowingly buy a conflict diamond.

Emotionally charged and yet entertaining. I don't know if this was written with Di Caprio in mind as it does lend itself to his acting formula. Yet is politically contemporary with the info needed about countries in civil war. The RUF is something we brits are aware of, and is Di Caprio a favourite for Europeans after starring in Titanic. The other actors were real. The plot believable the storyline maybe a little extended for any ordinary human bean, yet a good two hours spent in my books. Heightens your awareness!

A good friday night blockbuster !
