Versus is an action packed movie that is masterly choreographed making use of both swordplay and gunplay. A group of Yakuza awaits an escaped prisoner in a place known as the Forest of Resurrection but, when he arrives he is dismayed to find out that the Yakuza are planning to kill a female hostage. Fighting then ensues and the forest somehow becomes a spawning point for the undead. Now the hero (escaped prisoner) takes the heroine (female hostage) in hand and runs for safety. The hero quickly discovers he can't outrun all of the forest's angry residents or even the Yakuza and soon a chaotic battle fills the woods. In a later twist of events the hero finds out that he is the reincarnate form of either good or evil, the problem being he doesn't know whether or not he is reincarnate of good or pure evil. Versus is an energetic flurry of sword moves and gun battles that will not easily be forgotten.
