Confusing and very slow-pacd movie that tries to take advantage of Gellar's success in The Grudge, she even looks the same, but it's not as good as The Grudge, it's all very dull and confusing. Too bad.

I don't even know what happened in this movie. I was in the mood for a horror movie and this had to be the worst one I could have picked. Joanna was having dreams about another woman and blah blah blah. This was so boring

This was a quickie movie that went and left the movies very fast. This is a confusing movie that really was not very good. Gellar plays a lady who has visions of a lady getting merdered. She goes to the town where she is having visions and such....

This was a quickie movie that went and left the movies very fast. This is a confusing movie that really was not very good. Gellar plays a lady who has visions of a lady getting merdered. She goes to the town where she is having visions and such. The one thing that is good about this movie is that its short. It clocks in around 90 mins which is good. I think its confusing through out with the ending trying to put all the loose ends together and it really does not do a good job. Its not really worth a rental so I would suggest skipping it.

A very slow paced movie and, till about the last half hour, a very boring movie. This movie bounced all over the place and left you confused. The ending does finally explains most of it but still not in enough time to save my opinion of it....

I am a huge fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar and her work in cinema. I was so in love with her after Cruel Intentions that for a while she was in fact my favourite actress. I had high hopes for her. She's cute, she has a good screen presence and a good amount of talent. I thought she would go on to do great things. Ironically, her co-star in Cruel Intentions, Reese Witherspoon, did go on to become one of the most famous and respected actresses in Hollywood. SMG however is doing The Return. How did this happen? Such potential wasted. The Return is a bland, almost pathetic attempt at a thriller/ horror movie. The movie is painfully slow, the characters uninteresting, the story a ridiculous mess. SMG tries her best, holds the movie together, but all the other elements, from direction to script are just too bad. After 90 minutes of boredom, with the script trying to look mysterious, like there is something hidden that when revealed will blow our minds, it just ends. That was it? All of that, for this? As much as I like SMG, this was a waste of time and it truly is a shame to see a talented, beautiful actress, lost in such dire, mediocre material. What a shame.

Sarah Michelle Geller is the only stand-out in "the Return." if it not for her, I wouldn't bother watching this confused movie.

  The Return gets this year's award for most misleading poster, with its image of an empty-eyed, gray-skinned zombie/ghost that appears nowhere in the movie. You might, however, feel a little empty-eyed and zombie-like yourself after emerging from this languid story.
