Although Death Note might not be everybodys taste, anybody looking for something different with a mixture between a thriller and detective story are sure to find this interesting... Fans of the manga will probably adore this, such as myself. It's obvious that most comics can't go without being made into a live action movie, give it a couple of years and a Naruto or Bleach Live-Action movie will be playing at your local theatres. What makes the Death Note Live-Action movie so great is that although it may not be spot on with the manga and had to cut a few corners here and there, it still keeps Death Note as sinister and memorising as it was in the comics. Although hardcore fans of the manga may be a little disappointed that a few characters and bits of detail were trashed in order to fit this into 2 movies, you still understand what Light Yagami's objective is and the ending will possibly give you the same devistating feeling as on the manga.

Fans of the manga will probably adore these 2 movies and be very pleased, those looking for a thriller/detective movie may also enjoy the movie. Those not looking for more Death Note, stay away.

The only good in this movie is the history, which wasnt well addapted to a two hours movie, and the animations of Ryuk... everything else can be called crap.
You need to be a fan of the anime and/or manga of this series to watch it and...

You need to be a fan of the anime and/or manga of this series to watch it and understand it, cuz it has some history holes.
Making an a wide review of the bad stuff: The acting sucks, very overacted plus the actors didnt made a good job with their roles, the history has holes, kinda bothersome, and the worst could be... yes, they deleted from this movie all those smarts talks which make the manga and anime so popular, and if there is a little of it... it doesnt sound like one thanks to the acting.

Maybe a just one time in life experience for normal people and for fans of Death Note.
