I did like this movie I lved the soundtrack I loved how the monsters looked I loved all the trailers leading up to this movie but I felt they left alot open to it and tried to make too complicated of A story but on the other hand the story is about growing up and life as A kid wanting everything to be perfect and that's complicated to,I do think they made the kid act very stupid in the begining of the film and that and the ending was the films only downfall still A great flick great for kids and adults and it does carry that magic if you read the book as the child

A wonderful family movie that's not only as wild as the title promises, it's also a wonderfully produced, written, screen-played film that is free of the artificial saccharine sweetness that pollute other family films. Max dresses up as a Wild Thing when he feels like he doesn't get the attention he deserves. After a major conflict with his mother, Max runs away from home, to an Island where he can be as wild as he wants. On this unexplored place, he meets a menagerie of undiscovered animals, each representing a different part of Max's personality. Max's snarling attitude and unflinching bravery impress the savage creatures, as they crown Max the King of the Wild Things. At first, Max enjoys being the ruler of this new world he has arrived in, as he can order the untamed beasts around at his beck and call. But Max soon learns that the crown of a King is metaphorically heavy, and that without proper law, order, compassion, and acceptance for who other creatures are, it is impossible for everyone to be truly happy all the time. When Max comes to terms with his feelings and realizes that he can't run away for them or display only one feeling all the time, he realizes that he wants to be home where he truly belongs. And maybe, in some small way, positively influence how the Wild Things live on their island, and be a little bit wiser for the wear. This movie is awesome and it should absolutely be seen by any true fan of the modern cinema! Enough said! ;)

I JUST came out of the movie theatre after seeing this. Like, 15 minutes ago. It was hard to explain.
I think the actor of Max was fantastic. He really took in all the thoughts of a real boy his age. The so-called "Wild things" acted like real people, too. So in a nutshell, the acting was good.
I didn't really expect too much out of the story since it's based on a children's book. Not saying the book DIDN'T have a story, but, I hope you know where I'm going with this. Now this movie, like a lot of people said, was violent. Boys Max's age will be aggressive with that. That's how boys are. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. The "Wild things" had their moments, too.
What threw me off was the CAMERA at the beginning. It was too shaky, but the rest of the film it was overall fine.
I know this review wasn't the best. I'm likely to edit it later. I just don't really know how to FULLY describe this picture.
