After the release of "28 Days Later", zombies tend to have a new spark. I thought the acting was decent here. The special effects were respectable. The storyline fit the genre, but wasn't duplicating everything from its past. The vegan zombie brought some humor and a different direction to the movie as well other scenes such as zombie soldiers shooting back. Since this isn't an original such as the movie previously mentioned, I won't give it a higher score. The story also was original enough to not use the remake title. Having Ving and the title draw in the crowd?

I really can't explain how bad this movie was. I wasn't expecting an actual remake of Day of The Dead but I expected something a lot better than this pile. What went wrong? Were the producers trying to be a different edgier zombie movie? Well...

Well they failed...come on zombies running is one thing but zombies jumping out of third story windows and hoping around like human-sized frogs and running faster than the Flash? Hor-ri-ble!!! Stay far away from this stinker.

The ramake of Romero´s maybe best zombie movie: Dawn Of The Dead was a pretty good movie. No it was time to do a reamake of his third movie: Day Of The Dead. Let me start with saying that the original Day Of The Dead was probably the worst movie in Romero´s series. But it was a good movie. So why do a reamake? Did hollyood felt they needed to when all of his other classics where remade? The new Day Of The Dead is an awfull movie. The story is not at all like the original so it could have had a totaly different name. I guess they named it after the classic to get someone to watch it. The acting isn´t good, and the characters are not well developed. Down to the least important part: the effects. In this kind of movie where the story is silly the script is not good and the acting horrible the movie usualy just rely on the effects. But... not even the effects work here, some of them might be a little nice but then the directing and cutting is so bad you don´t get to see any of it. The script is the worst part of it all, i´ve never seen so many clishés in amovie before, it´s like you´ve seen it all before. And sometimes you know exacly what´s going to happen or even what a character is about to say. Day Of The Dead is one of the worst, and maybe THE worst zombie movie i´ve seen. And belive me when i say i´m very kind to give it 1 1/2 stars.

After you have seen this film you will say to yourself.. What the hell is this??. This is latest in the line of "remakes". It takes a different angle in that the only way this movie is a remake is in the title. Calling this a remake would be insulting to that actual movie. Day is possibly the weakest of the romero zombie films and this movie lives up to it. Basically a town is being shut down because people have a "virus". Suddenly this "virus" turns them into zombies but not the kind we are used to. They turn them into running backs from football teams. They run full speed through any and all things. Soooo the main characters run around trying to get out. You get the hint as to where this movie is going. The acting in this movie is horrible.. highlighted.. well more like low lighted by suvari. She is not very good in this film as are most of the actors here. I cannot blame rhames too much because he is in the film for a total of 20 mins or so. I really cannot say more about how bad this movie is. Its not a remake of day or even close to the original film. Skip this movie unless you have nothing better to watch.
