As an employee of a beer company as well as a fan of beer, I found this movie VERY amusing! It's one of those ridiculous movies that you find yourself quoting with your friends, cracking up laughing while other people look on and shake their heads. One I watch if I need some lightness to raise my day.

Being a great fan of Broken Lizard I just had to see this movie. It didn't stack up for me like Super Troopers. Though I found myself laughing at several of the scenes just about as hard. My favorite part had to be when they visited Fink at his lab. Trust me you have to see it....gross. If you like Broken Lizards previous movies you will like this one.

I tried watching this movie last night on HBO on Demand and after 30 minutes I couldn’t get into it. Not even a little bit. I only found one thing funny in the first 20 minutes as well and as of this morning I can’t remember what that was. Even the cast, who are funny in the things that I have seen them in were not funny. There is a an actor from SNL, and another actor that was in Not Another Teen Movie who is funny but in this movie their retarded German accents were not funny and made them not funny. Maybe one day when I have nothing, and I mean nothing, to do I will try watching this movie but until then this is the review it gets.

Beerfest was a funny film but it wasn't as funny as many other comedies. The story was kind of out there, two brothers go to Germany to dispose of their grandfathers ashes at the family's special place, and they enter the greatest drinking competition on earth, Beerfest.

The brothers center the contest against the Germans and lost pathetically and are sent back to the United States. Upon arriving back to the United States the brothers decide to put together a drinking team to compete with the other countries at the next year's Beerfest competition.

The next 45 minutes of the movie focuses on the team's training and there are plenty of funny scenes here. The American team returns to the competition and is facing off with the Germans in the final round. The United States loses because of a distraction and they challenge the Germans to a rematch of.... Das Boooooooot! The Americans win the competition because a drop of beer fell out of the Germans boot after they are finished.

Beerfest was a very funny movie, but there are many other comedies that are much better than this one. Sit back, crack open a few beers, and enjoy the greatest beer competition in the world.
