2. high hopes | Aug 28, 2007 11:52 am PTI really hope so to....but Marvel seems to have lost its way. Between Blade 3, Spiderman 3, and FF2, Marvel hasn't been doing too well. I have hopes that we will see a real superhero movie, with real action. Who knows...

I agree w/ Uncleduke78... the resent Marvel movies have been rather poor... in fact i think the Hulk movie was better then both Fant 4 movies and the third Blade movie together...
See, since i was a kid, I've been a huge marvel fan-boy... but it seems that in the past few years, DC has been making better comic movies... 300, Batman Begins, and Superman Returns were way better then all of Marvel's recent efforts...
Iron Man looks kick-ass tho

I hope Norton as good a job as Tobey did with Peter Parker.
They both fit the parts of the nerdy guy.

I hope they make this movie good because the one that came out in 2003 put me to sleep and I didn't even finish watching it.

well, i'll be watching this one too. i didn't mind the other hulk movie too much, but i realise it wasn't quite as good as expected. i wish they had jennifer connelly in this one too though, i think she's prettier than live tyler [if liv is playing the same character...].

I don't care what they do with it but that retarded "let's usea billionwindows" way of switching between scenes and point of views in the last movie needs to be erased from history, the china man who though of it imprisoned, and stan lee reprimanded...

11. high hopes | Mar 5, 2008 2:23 pm PTI don't know about this movie. The first one was pretty bad and the Marvel movies as of late have been dropping in quality (both F4 movies and Spider-Man 3).
-
12. high hopes | Mar 7, 2008 3:26 pm PTI'm sure this movie will be so much better than the one Ang Lee directed (which was hard to watch). I don't think the recent Marvel movies have been that bad.....no where near the garbage that was Superman Returns.....

13. high hopes | Mar 15, 2008 9:58 pm PTYea I hope this turns out well since the first one was pretty bad, and it seems as though Marvel is dropping some what in quality but I gotta say I enjoyed Blade 3 SP3 and FF2 though I admit each could've done much better.

Well... For me... They are way over exaggerating the original tv show series I loved so much. For me to want to see this again in a movie theatre... They'd have to keep the hulk more human-like... and I'd prefer if they'd use the original hulk actor, Lou Ferrigno. Lou did a great job capturing this character making the character of the HULK real to me. It's not about a normal man turning into a fake animated character... It's about a real man turning into a real HULK of a man to me. Keeping the HULK more human like is what I wish they would release in a new film someday... Then I'd LOVE to go see that movie... especially if Lou Ferrigno is in it! - JamesLimborg.com

I loved the television series of the Hulk and thought Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno did an great job bring the character to life.

I liked elements from both movies, but honestly, I actually liked the first Hulk movie better. I think Ang Lee did a great job. I don't see why he gets such a bad rap. Do people really want Marvel to dumb down movies that much? I think ang Lee's version of the Hulk had more depth to it. Of course, I think Norton did slightly better than Bana as banner. I didn't like the villains they used in the first movie at all. I think using main stream Marvel villains like abomination and the leader gave the 2008 movie one up. But I think Connely made a way better Betty than Tylor.
What I didn't like the most about the 2008 movie though was that they didn't show the Hulk's ability to grow as he gets stronger. I think that key trait is what distinguishes him from all the other strong men in the superhero universe. I think not showing how the Hulk grows in size and strength as he gets angrier destroyed the movie, at least for me. That's why I prefer the first movie. I do think the 2008 Hulk looked better though, texture wise.
I loved the old Hulk series too. It was great for it's time, but it's behinds the times. I don't think using a real human actor to portray the Hulk would cut it. CGI all the way.
I do agree that Marvels movies have been kind of lackluster as of late; with the exception of Iron Man. I really was disappointed with X-Men 3. DC has done a great job with Batman as of late, but Superman returns was awful.

Then I'd LOVE to go see that movie... especially if Lou Ferrigno is in it! I come at this from exactly the opposite direction. I loved the series too, but the series was not the original in any way. The Hulk has been in the comics for decades, and when the series came out I was very disappointed that they made the Hulk so powerless. He couldn't leap, wasn't nearly as strong, and wasn't even bulletproof. In the comics, the Hulk gets stronger as he gets angrier, so he is potentially the single strongest creature in the entire Marvel universe. The Hulk in the TV show pretty much just pushed things over and threw bad guys into trash cans.
As for Lou, he was amazing in the series (or should I say "incredible") but he's getting older now. And honestly, he never came anywhere close to portraying the original Hulk, who should be almost eight feet tall and a broad as a bus. I think the Ang Lee version actually overdid his size, but this new movie is pretty much perfect.
As for the humanity of the Hulk, you should really check out the new film. Between Ed Norton's protrayal of Banner and the excellent CGI for the Hulk there is a great deal of humanity in this new version. Highly recommended.
