The original Butterfly Effect film was a surprise for me. I knew nothing about it and after seeing it loved it. This one is obviously tired. For one thing the going back in time and fixing things is old. For another, aside from the original jump to save his friends, the rest were so the guy could have a good job, money, sex, etc. While the first one dealt with saving his freind from child abuse, tc. This one was to save his girlfried from a life of being a fashion photographer. LAME.

Still, it wasn't awful to sit through, but mindless entertainment where I found the original thought provoking.

It is also nice to see a sci fi fans cast here. Erica Durance from Smallville, Gina Holden from many sci fi projects such as Buck Rogers and Smallville, and the hot Lindsey Maxwell from other sci fi stuff too (one of which I just saw last night, Decoys 2).

Nice to see an all-Canadian casting of babes here.

You won't recognize most of the small-time actors, except for Erica Durance who you might know from tv. Since she's the only half-decent actor in this movie, she has the least screentime.
*6 of the main actors are Canadian. I'm not ragging on them for being Canadian, but they're not very good at acting and they're not well-known enough to be starring in a 90-minute film.

The script is dry and emotionless, pointless and over-dramatic. If you've seen any of the 'Final Destination' movies, you already know half the plot. The other half is lifted from the first, very good 'The Butterfly Effect'; sort-of. To save money on actors, the main character can only time-travel back a single year instead of a decade. This makes the entire movie less epic. The character starts off noble enough by rescuing his friends, but then he starts time-hopping for his own selfish reasons, like to prank the mean boss and climb the corporate ladder.

Somehow the characters go from easy-going teenagers to a corporate shark, a seedy club photographer, a male sex slave, and a newly-wed couple in less than a year. There's maybe 2 scenes in the whole movie that are somewhat entertaining, but even then it's a stretch. The rest of the movie is moody, unrealistic, or unbelievable: Character gets shot. dying Character asks: What's going on?

Aside from being used as a regifting, I can't imagine this video being useful to anyone. For the love of anyone, don't make a third one!

I think this movie was one of those straight to DVD films that you never hear about. Enough said.

The first movie blew me away on originality. I did start falling for Durance by the end. Actually all of these actors were respectable and performed well.

It has not the originality the first one had, but it's a good movie anyway, that's what happens to sequels.
And, dude... Erika Durance is so hot!!!
