wasnt to bad I have to say this is probebly the best movie of the series still not to many american cars but i guess that ok the setting of the movie in japan was cool and the races were drawn out and vin desiel had a cameo which makes me think...

..Is actually the best movie I've seen in a while! It owns the first two in every way, from story to stunts.

Story:
Sean (Lucas Black) is a kid that dosent fit in. he seems to get into trouble whereever he goes, so he moves alot. in the opening scene of the movie, he screws up again, and his mother decides to send him to live in Tokyo with his dad whos in the army, to keep him from going to juvy. he meets an "Army Brat" named Twinky (Bow Wow), who ends up introducing him to the Tokyo underground, and that's where the movie starts its engines.

It's actually a good story for these kinda movies, but a lot of the focus of the movie is drifting, and more crazy car stunts. I dont really blame them, considering 2Fast 2Furious, but the story is way better than that. It has themes of Identity, a love story, and Yakuza elements.

story:9/10

Characters:

Sean is way cooler than Paul Walker's character. he's not some poser/undercover cop infiltrating some drug/car theft ring. he's just a guy that loves cars, and is looking for a place to go.

Twinky was a lot less of a jerk than I thought I would be, and dosent have much impact on the movie besides the beginning. he basically becomes one of Seans best friends.

Neelah, the love interest, Is a pretty good character, and pretty hot, even though there were hotter extras in the movie, IMO.

The guy that really steals the show though, is Han. He's one of the coolest movie characters i've ever seen. he dosent "act" cool, he just *is* he quickly becomes Seans best friend. I think he should've been the main char, or he should get his own movie.

D.K/Takashi is the closet thing to a villain in the movie. he's a jerk, and Neelah's bf. He has a vendetta against Sean from the start to the end. the fact that his uncle is the Yakuza boss helps his Villain cred.

so as I was saying, they're all good characters and never really seem corny.

chars 9/10

"stuff" (atmosphere, setting, stunts/action, etc)

this is the main course of the movie. you dont have to be a Motorhead to enjoy this. Tokyo is vibrant and flashy. the city is as beautiful as the women that live in it. The main focus, the Import cars, are fast and furious. there are some very crazy stunts in the movie, from beginning to end. My favorite part is the chase sequence 66% through the movie. I cant spoil anything, but i'll just say this about that part: traffic, guns, crashes, and explosions. I wish there were more fist fights/gunplay in the movie, but the car stunts more than make up for it. for people that liked the first F&F, there's a nice scene at the very end. Wish it were longer though.

stuff: 9.5/10

overall, Tokyo drift succeeds at having the edge-of-your-seat, popcorn shoveling action that the people came here for, while still having a decent story and likeable characters. overall:9.25/10

Everyone in the movie seemed pretty childish, the cops are presented as cardboard cutouts from a 1970s melodrama, and by the time they get to the cars, we actually wish the humans would disappear. Well....tokyo drift was a cool movie.... i loved the drifting...but i would still say 2 fast 2 furious was the best title in the FAST AND THE FURIOUS MOVIES....

The movie is not exactly "Shogun" when it comes to the subject of an American in Japan (nor, on the other hand, is it "Lost in Translation"). But it's more observant than we expect, and uses its Japanese locations to make the story about something more than fast cars.
