I don't know whats crazier, the fact his movie is called Snakes on a Plane or the fact it spells SOAP, or the fact was actually pretty good. The movie in general is pretty much all your normal hollywood tricks & story ideas with a little extra comedy to spice it up and the ending is the classic everyone wins scenario. Some half-decent performances by some unknown faces are put out of focus with Samuel's all too serious acting (For the comedy). In all the movie was pretty fun to watch and fairly entertaining - a good group of friends movie.

Story:
I think the story is pretty obvious. There is no symbolism/deep meaning to the title, folks. Sean Jones, a surfer that lives in Hawaii, witnesses a brutal murder by a psychotic Triad gangster named Eddie Kim. They go after him, but FBI agent Neville Flynn (Samuel L Jackson) saves him, and decides to escort him on a 747 to LA to testify against Kim, and lock him up for good. Not all is well, as little did everyone know Kim had a plethora of poisonous snakes put on the plane. The movie basically runs from there?

Say what you want about it, but as ridiculous and absurd as the movie?s concept is, it works. It?s not trying to be deep, or more complex than it needs to be; there are SNAKES on a PLANE, what more do you want!? Some might long for a deeper plot, but I give it points up for trying not to be something its not.

Story 9/10

Characters:
I?m just gonna go out and say it: this movie wouldn?t be near as good without Samuel L Jackson and his character. Flynn is a tough-as-nails FBI agent that succeeds at having a personality, while still being so tough. I wouldn?t say the rest of the cast is throwaway though, but they are pretty shallow, which I?ll allow in this case, since most of them get wiped out left and right.

There?s Sean, the witness, the Steward/stewardesses Tiffany, Claire, the middle-aged one, and?that other dude, Rick the pilot, a germ phobic rapper named Three Gs, and his 2 bodyguards Leroy and Troy (Kenan Thompson), a lady and her dog, some disgruntled English businessman, 2 thrill seekers, and a couple children. Oh, and the Snakes of course. Seriously, those snakes should win an award for Best Supporting Actor. They have most of the good stunts in the movie. If not, Kenan should, if only for his role in the climax of the film.

Stuff: (atmosphere, effects, stunts/action, etc)

We should be thanking ourselves, the fans, for SoaP being the movie it is today. Thanks to our outcries, and need to hear Flynn say what is now known as ?The Line?, New Line decided to do some Re-shoots to make the movie better and more extreme. And extreme it is. They pushed the envelope into ?holy crap!? territory with some of the snake attacks.

The snakes look extremely fake, but that doesn?t mean they cant be terrifying, or make you jump. And you *will* jump. I don?t really want to spoil some of the better moments of the movie, but I will say this No one (not even women and children), and Nowhere (not even bathrooms) is truly safe. The Snakes come from anywhere, and everywhere, including the places where you least expect them. With the snakes being so aggressive, it?s a good thing Flynn?s on the plane. I swear he went through some Snake survival course or something before getting on the plane, since he almost always knows what to do.

The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat, and never really lets up, or gives you a breather. Even with this intensity, it still finds time to be funny as heck. Some of the lines are just plain hilarious. Even in the outrageous climax, they found time to put in a great joke?

SoaP is everything you wished it to be, and possibly more. I suggest you go see it with as many friends as you can, or hope you get a good crowd. It?s possibly the most fun I've had in a theater. Crowd participation makes this movie even better than at already is. Anyways, go see it, unless you've got snakes in your sense of a good time

I thought the movies was alrigt up until the point where the snakes came out. Everything that came after that point was horrible. The only reason why I continued to watch it was because Samuel L. Jackson played in it.

Snakes on a Plane, the most anticipated movie of the 2006 summer, stars Samuel L. Jackson as an FBI agent fighting off you know what on you know where. He is there to escort some kid (amazingly poorly played by Nathan Phillips) to testify against a gang leader he witnessed murder somebody. The catch is the gang put deadly snakes jacked up on pheromones (no joke) to kill him. Why they chose this method is beyond me.

Now this movie is totally amusing in the fact that it is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. And while some of it is meant to be funny , the parts that are the funniest are the ridiculously cheesy actors, attacks, script, cinematography, and storyline. We were laughing ourselves to tears just heckling this movie.

One of the amusing parts of this is how people die (as expected). Bites on bare nipples, penises, tongues, and necks including one woman who starts getting turned on by the snake crawling up her shirt until it bites her eye out. I know right, you want to see it.

Well the truth is if you want to go ahead and see it because you will laugh harder than you have in a long time (not in a good way). Mind you, this movie is NOT a comedy. The cinematography is totally corny; whenever shots are through the eyes of snakes they are in this stupid green misty lens. Lastly, some parts just don't make sense. For example, the snakes can bite the power wires but are defeated by a small taser, they are blocked by a wall of luggage, and if the snakes could get into the passenger department it would cause the passengers to suffocate anyway. It is not that this movie is a bad movie that is really good, or is good because it was bad like I thought it was going to be. It was just BAD.

Samuel M’rF’n Jackson is the man! This actor wants a paycheck and doesn’t care how bad the movie is to get it. It seems that after he fulfilled his dream of being in a Star Wars movie everything after that has been down hill. Well, if you take this movie at what it’s worth and don’t go into it expecting an Oscar winning movie you might come out pretty well entertained. The basis of the movie is man sees crime lord kill someone and runs to the FBI. Samuel L. Jackson’s character is charged with getting the man to the court to testify. They take a plane and commandeer the entire first class. Crime lord somehow fills cargo hold with a butt load of snakes and also sets up a way to make the snakes go nuts with some kind of pollen that is cycled through the air vents so that the entire plane is filled with it. After that the entertainment ensues. The snakes go nuts and attack the passengers in a variety of different way from biting an unsuspecting man using the urinal (use your imagination), an extremely horny couple trying to join the mile high club and even one lady in the tongue. Yummy! Of course you know how the movie ends. If not I’ll tell you that it involves Sam “the man� Jackson. The snake effects were ranging from extremely bad to ok. The same goes for the snake attacks. Some of the attacks are purely there for enjoyment, some look so stupid because you know it would never, ever happen and some had me laughing out loud. I was entertained through the entire movie though and that means something was done right. It is a movie that if you take it too seriously you won’t like it. There is no thought process involved in watching this movie and some times that is a good thing for a movie of this sort. I liked it, would watch it again but wouldn’t buy it on DVD for much money.

Entertainment, pure entertainment. Forget about the hype and judge this movie on it merits. It's fun, enjoyable fluff that doesn't pretend to be anything else.
