The movie was pretty good and intense. For Mark Walhberg it was pretty similar for me to some of his others but i thought this move deserved a lot more credit than it received. Eva Mendez was great in it and her character was intense along with Robert Duvall. Joaquin Pheonix has become an awesome actor and he was really great in this movie. I really enjoyed it and enjoyed the ending as well.

A very good and powerful film. Good cast, Phoenix,Whalberg, Duval and Mendez. It was sucj a good story. Of a Drug addicted Night club owner that turns his life around i memory of his father. And he is getting his vengeance.

Before I mislead anyone with this review, I very much liked this movie, but I wanted to love it and I excpected much more from an all star cast loke this movie had. The moive is very weak even though I did put it as number 4 on my Top 10 of 2007 list. This was very underrated by the critics. I would guve this movie a B+ or maybe an A-. One would excpect more ou of Joaquin Pheonix. Mark Whalberg though was very good and should seriously be considered for Best Supporting Actor. Eva Mendes was basically doing nothing as Joaquin Pheonix's girlfriend. The only scenes she put any effort into was the one in the beginning when Joaqin, being the lucky guy he is, got to dig aroung in her pannties. Would I love to be him. The movie's storyline changes every five minutes. James Gray packs alot into 2 hours but I have to say, I almost loved this movie.
