So funny and classic it's like Napoleon Dynamite except everybody's Mexican and most of it is wrestling. Very funny movie!!

i thought that this is underapresheated. it's just strange, in a good way. it just like Napoleon Dynamite witch was also good. i dont see why people hate it. it's a film for people who like a little od-ness.

It was a bad movie. I gave up on it about 2/3 through. It had some funny parts. You'll get that with Jack Black. Problem is, it had horrible quality with the voices not in line with the mouths moving. Also, the characters in the movie were just annoying. It was too slow, boring, and it was hard to follow exactly what the plot was. Jack Black is cool, but he needs to learn when to turn down an offer.

This movie i just never found funny it was just to stupid to even laugh at. If your a wrestling fan you will this. Weak jokes with a bad story plot to the movie.

So I gave the movie a watch and its not to bad. A good array of hilarious characters with a little bit of poorly choreographed wrestling matches. It more of a stupid comedy that true Jack Black fans will understand. His very facial expressions at times will make you crack right up. I recommend it as a rental for a couple hours of laughter.

I wasn't too sure about Nacho Libre, considering that it was directed by the same person who did Napoleon Dynamite. I think I was hoping that it would be the same as Napoleon, but after seeing the advanced reviews, it slipped from my mind. It's too bad that it did, as after I finally watched it, I was rather pleased.

Nacho Libre stars Jack Black as a monk who has dreams of being a luchador. There are problems with his dream. The main one being that he can't be both a man of the cloth and a wrestler. Of course this plays as a major plot line as we see Jack Black try to balance the two.

The movie was made by Nickelodeon Studios, so right off the bat you know it's going to be targeted towards a younger audience. As such, some of the humor is rather hit and miss at times, especially the occasional fart and scream jokes. But luckily, for older audiences, there are the occasional jokes that they'll get, but only the occasional. With that said, Nacho Libre is more of a mixed bag for adults, while the younger audiences will just love it. The only real problem with the movie is that it seems to jump around a lot from scene to scene. Also, not everything is fully explained. But luckily they don't take too much from the film as a whole.

Overall, Nacho Libre is a pretty good family film. Jack Black does a great job and the humor, while at times smart and not so smart, really works. If you're looking for a movie to see on a weekend or late night, then make sure you check it out.

I don't know about most reviewers on this site, but I liked Nacho Libre, and I agree with NY & LA Times. It was a fun, quirky comedy from the same guys who brought you Napoleon Dynamite (Which I despised). I had bad thoughts about this film, but it was not bad. The story is about Ignacio "Nacho" (Jack Black), who is a friar at an orphanage, who has a huge passion for luchador wrestling. He plans to wrestle to earn money for the orphanage, and prove to the nun(whom he has feeling for) that he is tough. But things fail as he loses every fight, and then starts to have doubts. Jack Black was very funny from start to finish. This film also has a very cool soundtrack, and funny jokes. You should check this out. 4/5 stars.

Nacho Libre is a film that is easily forgettable.It is rather slow and boring at times but not to the point that it becomes a bad movie.The film is funny in parts and gets a few laughs but isn't as slapstick as you'd think.The humour is very King Of The Hill/Home Movies style.It is very subtle and very monotoned at times.Nacho Libre succeeds i think because of Jack Black who is in my opinion the next Jim Carrey.Jack is goofy and delivers his lines with great facial expressions.The movie however is at times very dry mostly when he is training or buying groceries.In the wrestling scenes it is very difficult not to laugh at the girlish screams throughout and the crazy in ring antics.The actual wrestling scenes were probably the best of the whole movie aside from a few good scenes in the church.Unfortunately you will get tired of the film about 3/4 through.Nacho Libre is funny in parts,dry in some but overall a good way to blow off a boring day.

The only reason this movie even gets a full star is for Jack Black's improvised singing scene. Other than that there was nothing funny or entertaining about this movie.
