A trifle of a movie, but it does what it sets out to do- takes a nice concept to a reasonably satisfying conclusion, with a few laughs thrown in along the way. Kudos to Luke Wilson for an endearing, if cutesy, performance and to Rainn Wilson for some of the film's truly funny moments. And who knew Uma Thurman had the kind of comic timing she displays here in a bravely vanity-free performance. Decent special effects and production values round out the picture for this surprisingly enjoyable movie.

This movie is overrated. I was expecting it to be a funny-break up movie, but it's not even kind-of funny. Uma Thurman's character is annoying on all fronts. (Which is strange, because as a child she seemed well-balanced, yet she grew up into a needy screwball.) Owen Wilson is a wishy-washy boy Lois Lane. The only likeable characters are Anna Faris and Rain Wilson.

At some points it feels like the dialogue and the characters are openly putting-down the premise of the movie, which seems self-defeating. Also, they've got not 1, but 3 superhero sex scenes, that were just-plain juvinelle and humorless. Why have something lame once when you can have it thrice?

The last 15 minutes were pretty funny, and the ending was good. Why couldn't the whole movie be like the last part? Except for the ending, I think I laughed once during the whole movie. It could've been funny, but I guess that wasn't what they were going for.

The story idea looks great on paper. A super-hero who has trouble keeping a boyfriend because she's emotionally wacko. It seems like there's so much you can do with that idea. However, the potential was never realized. The funniest gag was where she throws a shark through a window at a guy. But we already saw that in the trailer. Every other super-powered fit of rage was rather mundane in comparison. She punches car windows, throws stuff really hard, and other normal everyday stuff. Just with super-strength which results in slightly more destruction but not enough to really be funny. The underlying relationship story was rather thin so the movie really needed great gags to carry it. Unfortunately, they just weren't there.

Making it a habit-me and my friend- in watching movies and laughing alone at the serious parts, we walked into this movie to enjoy ourselves, have fun like we always do. However, we ended up sitting alone surrounded by a laughing audience, where we hardly got the joke! This movie wasn’t funny at all, even the not-funny parts weren’t funny! Uma Therman is a great actress, but this movie was a terrible 'hit'. Not to mention adding Eddie Izzard (who is a naturally funny guy) to the cast in hopes of adding humor to the movie, and giving him a stupid role with a stupid script just made he look..well.. stupid! A horrid movie with a horrid story line, a horrid centre with an even more horrid ending. horrid horrid horrid.

This film made me laugh, I found a fair number of scenes funny but over all it was pathetic! I give one star for effort and minus four stars for that digital shark! Let's just hope they never make a sequel.

I had good feelings about this movie before I saw it. I mean, it's a comedy starring Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman and its premise seemed rather original and humorous. Well, the movie certainly was not as good as I thought it was going to be.

Let me just say, this movie was just another way for a man to watch 2 women fight over him. One has superpowers and the other doesn't get it, or so you think. I do not like any of the Wilson guys, but this movie was funny. A bit offensive in a way, but Uma is the woman.
