Owen Wilson is hilarious as the annoying house guest, but the rest of the movie is tedious and at times painfully slow. Kate Hudson shows her amazing acting range of stern and smiling, Matt Dillon and Michael Douglas's interactions are irritating and add nothing to the story. Overall, a few funny gags by Wilson ruined by the rest of the film (excluding the bit role by Seth Rogen), because it is so unfunny without Wilson's scenes.

I'm not so sure why people did not like "You, Me and Dupree" more. I did not think it was the best comedy ever made, but I did find it humorous and enjoyable. The plot was a tad recycled, but it was still cool nonetheless. I also thought...

The first half starts off well as a gentle but entertaining comedy, with decent performances from all. Unfortunately it drastically runs out of steam in the second half in both story and character performances, with an end result that seems fairly dull and lifeless.

Only recommended for the biggest of Owen Wilson fans.
