I didn't think it was a funny movie. This has to be the worst movie Robin Williams ever made. There was alot of dumb jokes and they kept draging on the poop scene which was gross. The only funny part was when the family were stuck out of the rain...

The only funny part was when the family were stuck out of the rain while getting the bad smell out of the RV. I'm sorry to say I give this movie 1 1/2 stars.

This movie should be reason enough, to discourage anyone from wanting to drive an RV. The movie goes straight downhill from the beginning, becoming more and more predictably ideal. The stereotypes just keep coming and coming. The characters are so hardcore stereotypical it becomes enduring to watch them progress into happy go lucky boys and girls. Despite not being labeled as a Disney film, it still offers the same formulaic and routine family scenario. Originality is really suffering in Hollywood, and this is another example. Hey anybody remember the classic Natl Lampoons Vacation? about 20 sumthing years ago? It was way more funny back then. I think this film is basically an average family, comedy. It's a shame that Robin Williams' superior acting talent is used up on continuous movies that are sunshine and lollipops.

Riiight. I guess this was trying to be like The Great Outdoors or any of the National Lampoon Vacation movies but it just wasn't very good. The laughs were few and far in between.

RV will not be the movie you will see if you're taking a film class. It won't be the movie you see if romantically inclined. It won't be the movie you see if you have an intellect. It won't interest you if you're into period pieces. Nor will you find it very entertaining if you like Romantic Comedies, Brainy Comedies, Black Comedies. This movie is slapstick comedy, and it holds that position by rote verse not be example. The Teleplay (not even worthy of screen play status) of a working class stiff lying to everyone just so he can have everything his way is so old that I wonder if Mr. Williams even read the script before he signed the contract. Every aspect of this story has been done already. There was not only nothing new, but some of the same old tired jokes were used...again. Slapstick = potty jokes, things being broken, and lead characters having to do really stupid things (like 'walking' to the bottom of a lake).
I sat through this whole movie simply because it was Robin Williams. I don't think I laughed once, not one intelligent joke, unique situation, nor anything worthy of note. Another reviewer mentioned National Lampoon's Vacation...see that.

This movie is good. Not excellent as it has some bad moments but it's funny. But I think Robin Williams has made films better than this one, for sure. He could do a lot more as he has potential for it.

I wanted to see this movie the moment it came out, and when I finally got around to seeing it, RV was what I imagined it to be: a little bit funny, a little bit stupid, a little bit boring.

  RV stands for "Retread of 'Vacation,'" or possibly "Robin's Vehicle," but to me it's funnier than "National Lampoon's Vacation." I always found Chevy Chase's road trip more unpleasant than outrageous, but RV has laughs spilling out of its overhead bins.

  There is nothing I much disliked but little to really recommend. At least the movie was not nonstop slapstick, and there were a few moments of relative gravity, in which Robin Williams demonstrated once again that he's more effective on the screen when he's serious than when he's trying to be funny.
