I love the cast and the director, but I saw every twist coming. Why is it that every British or European elderly man has to be linked to Nazis? At points the film does work but overall there is too much that is too simple or transparent.

Excellent genre film that turns a lot of conventions on their heads. Thrillingly conceived, directed and acted.

Surprising change of pace for director Spike Lee, and star Denzel Washington even finds a few new wrinkles in the patented hard-working, committed, noble cop film persona he seems to portray so often these days. Clive Owen is perfect, as is Jodie Foster in an interesting change-of-pace role. And the truly inventive, brilliant twist at the end is one you won't see coming.

A pretty good movie. Clive Owen stole the show. Thought it did lack some suspense and drama. 4 Stars.

Not your typical Spike Lee joint, "The Inside Man" is Lee's clever and inventive take on classic heist-films. It still contains some of the heavy-handed moralizing Lee is know for, but it doesn't distract from the engrossing plot. Denzel Washington and Clive Owens are perfect foils, and Jodie Foster is, dare I say, sexy as the power-monger without a conscience.

Coming from Spike Lee you know this isn't going to be your typical bank heist movie. I really enjoyed this one and the ending did indeed catch me by surprise.

The whole idea was very cool for this movie, but I'm not going to spoil the details. This movie involves a bank robbery that is "perfectly planned" and executed perfectly as well. If you're into bank robbery movies this is one you should definitely check out.

I thought that "Inside Man" was a decent enough thriller/suspense/heist film, but it couldn't quite hold up there with movies such as "Heat" or even the "Ocean" series.

Inside Man is never quite what you
expect it to be. It’s a heist film, that’s a given, but one that
depends more on intense moments of the interactions of the characters
more than action scenes in the movie. Even though you loose more action
what the true story is about how intelligent the robbers where in there
act. You see the intelligence of the robbers when they force the
hostages to strip and given matching painters outfits, masks and
sunglasses as the robbers to wear. Then you see how precise each thing
said over the phone is almost like a riddle more than a sentence. It
makes you think keeps you wanting more to the riddles.


Even
though this is a bank robbery movie it has many twists along the road.
You soon come to find out the past of a man and the intentions of the
robbers real purpose. It keeps you on the edge of your set as you find
out little bits of intell about each person, while the detective tries
to sort it all out.

In the end I have to say Inside Man is a
good movie very lengthy in some ways, but the suspense and the twists
make it work watching. I would recommend seeing this movie if your into
smart / action movies. So i give Inside Man a 4/5 rating score. Go see
this movie its worth sitting down with popcorn on a boring night.

  The best Spike Lee movie to come along since 1992's "Malcolm X." It's also the first Spike Lee movie since "Malcolm X" to star Denzel Washington, and just as Jimmy Stewart and Alfred Hitchcock brought out the best in each other, Denzel and Spike need each other like vermouth and gin.
