"While it's primarily very incomprehensible, 'Altered' is still a well-made thriller."


Altered is the story of four men who seek revenge on the aliens that abducted them and murdered their friend many years ago. The plot pretext, gradually explained via character dialogue throughout the film, is of five American friends living in a remote American town that were captured and experimented on approximately fifteen years ago whilst on a hunting trip - only four of which survived. The story opens with the tracking and subsequent capture of a lone alien - the consequences of which Wyatt and the three friends soon become deeply involved in.

On its surface, 'Altered' is a thoroughly muddled and incomprehensible film with good acting and good cinematography, but at its core, it's a good film that could have easily been released theatrically. Myrick delivers another satisfying film.
