i liked the movie but i dont think it was funny funny.... in some of the movie it was funny.

While it wasn't Matthew McConaughey's best romantic comedy, I still thought that "Failure to Launch" was a very funny flick. Everyone knows someone who is in their mid-twenties (but maybe/hopefully not their 30s) that still lives with their parents. Now, we can see what actually goes on in those households. I had to knock the film rating a bit because I didn't think SJP's and Matthew's chemistry was that great.

A better than expected comedy, though doesn't get passed average. There are some laughs in this rather silly film about a man still living with his parents, who bring in hired help to make him leave home. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughy are both disappointing in it, however Zooey Deschanel, as Parker's roommate, is exceptional, and really deserves more screen time and a better movie. A bit of light fluff that you will forget a week later.

  Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker look and act, quite attractively, like grown-ups, and their easy rapport makes them convincing and appealing as an on-screen couple. So all throughout Failure to Launch, I found myself wishing they were in a different movie, maybe one as sophisticated as "The Philadelphia Story," which the movie references, but doesn't remotely live up to.
