all four games are awesome but this is a piece of crap!.the games are based on a gate way to hell opening the movie is about a disece or mutation or somthing but whatever it is the movie sucks and the games will live on

I'm an avid gamer and I absolutely hate almost all the lousy video game-adaptation movies made by Hollywood like Street Fighter, Double Dragon, Bloodrayne, Dead or Alive and more- but Doom for me it's not that bad. While the movie may not follow 100% from its source material, Doom does have some decent action sequence even though the casting is pretty bad and the soundtrack sucks balls.
Like the original Doom game, the plot takes place in Mars and the UAC apparently is being attacked by unknown beings and they send a distress signal to Earth to come for the rescue. But unlike the original game, Earth sends a bunch of pathetic mercenaries instead of only one guy (Which fans recognize him as "Doomguy") and Mars is not being attacked by demons from hell (Like in the game) but by failed experiments or something like that. Honestly, I can't figure out why Hollywood loves to change the storyline whereas the original plot from the game is already good and it's already there for you to use it so why in hell would you wanna re-create the goddamn script? Anyway, Doom is pretty a straight-forward action movie. Though it lacks any charm from the games with its unnecessary and constant swearing, bad dialogue and pointless chit-chatting, Doom is somehow an ok movie for me. I don't recommend it a whole lot but all I can say that this is a pretty decent movie than the other lousy, pathetic adaptations by Hollywood and Uwe Boll. They just don't know s**t about video games.

2 and half-stars out of 5.
The Good: the rock is still the best in hollywood some cool action parts.
The Bad: story is lousy and pathetic medicore script and casting bad acting.
The Ugly: it lacks the cool game series that made doom the best but this is just insulting.

What is this was my question when I finished the movie. I played so many games also Doom and I must said this film is bad. A group of Marines arrived into mars to check a problem there a very unusual problem, once there they found that something strange was killing the research doctors. With weapons they started they search they found that the doctors are getting killed and found a strange creature and shoot kill, blood , shoot kill blood , monster, door, shoot kill blood, talk and shoot killing and blood, is true I like movies like it but if they had a good story, after sometime the found that the monsters were humans before the doctors missing and they found an strange experiment about one more chromosome in the DNA, and that they tested in a evil person and he become evil and that if he bite another evil person he'll become like him in conclusion bad story was better if they fought against aliens or even "gray aliens" like are 51 but this is really bad. At the end a soldier was inyected with the extra chromosome and he kill the infected persons and even the sergeant of the unit that becomes evil for killing a soldier that stills amazing (bad story really bad).
Screenplay: Bad, bad, bad and uninspired.
Acting: If we want to watch good acting must search in other place. Can be improved but too late.
Sound: Average.
My score: 1 and 1/2 stars and I'm generous

The story is very straight forward,easy to follow and complemented the game very well.The acting was rather good especially from The Rock.Many say he's terrible in it but I think this is his best performance yet.The Movie is full of horror style action and is every bit as good as Alien.There actually isn't much of a difference between Doom and Alien if you liked one I'm sure you'll enjoy the other.The characters while you don't know much about them are very fun and you hope that certain ones will live.I've heard many claim that this is a mindless piece of trash but i disagree completely Doom was the best Sci Fi Flick I've seen in a long time next to Serenity,Aeon Flux,and Star Wars 3.Doom is an incredibly fun and enjoyable ride that will satisfy any action fan craving blood.Doom surprisingly steers clear of the crap o meter and lands on my list of reccomendations.

Together they pull a double whammy and have Doom star The Rock. So the writers try to make a plot but, you won't very much care for it. I mean how do you make a plot based on a game with three steps which are 1. Pick up gun, 2. Shoot monsters, 3. Repeat. That's it. At the end it's even worse it's as if someone were playing Doom and not letting you play. While it's probably one of the worse movies ever at least Uwe Boll didn't direct it.

Doom is the best movie ever. I really like the blood and gore and all the hell breaking lose. I really like it because I really enjoy the games and it give a good look at what doom is all about. The Rock acts really good as a commanding officer of a military group and then tures evil while the other guy is good and superhuman. Anyway if you like the games and enjoy action-packed, scare you sh**less movies then this is the right movie for you.

This is just a shame. I actually like some of the actors in it but the movie is awful. The most amazingly poor attempt at gimmick is the first person part. Horrible.

I never played the game, so it would be unfair for me to compare the two. But, as an action film, it's your average action film, and The Rock is decent, but it's the same character in almost all action films. The special effects are sub-par and...

The special effects are sub-par and should (and also could) have been better. The best part of the film is the first person scenes at the end of the film. 7/10.
