Interesting plot, but it fails to deliver in the end as the last few scenes are rushed, the acting looses the edge that it had maintaining through the rest of the movie, and the general feeling of what must happen is so obvious that the tension of the scene looses its meaning.
That said the direction is solid, although at times it tends to seem a little jagged, but that maybe on purpose, being that it appeals a modern, hip, young crowd. The acting is well done, Ellen Page is fine in her role. Patrick Wilson is surprisingly good.
This is a good middle of the road Dramatic thriller and you can't really go wrong with a viewing on a Saturday evening.
Personal note: I hate women and children being hurt (makes me physically ill)...so I have mixed feelings about the general approach of this film. If nothing else, it stirs up a lot for me, makes me think.
