I'm HUGE fan of Ben Affleck (one of our generation's most under-appreciated actors in my opinion) but I was really disappointed in this film. Affleck plays a Hollywood agent who comes into a hard time relating to both his work and home lives, not to mention there is a psychotic screenwriter who basically blackmails him through stealing his journal.

The story of the film has some major problems. It never really decides if it wants to be funny or taken seriously, and it seems like the actions and performances seem to change between the two with every scene.

While (almost) none of the performances are truly awful, none of them are great either, which is a real shame considering this film has some talented performers. The actress that plays the Asian screenwriter who blackmails Affleck is not very good in this film. Her performance is almost like a stereotypical imitation of Asian women rather than a real character.

Overall, this movie is a pass. Try watching some of Affleck's better movies, such as Chasing Amy or even Hollywoodland.
