This is a dull movie. Sorry, but there really isn't much to the story. Almost immediately the whole tale is spilled like a broken water main because it's so cliche that it's obvious. The only saving grace was the hope of a secondary story that involving Jennifer Connelly's past, but that story never reaches any fruition, expect to be a pain in her side when dealing with her divorce.
Pete Postlethwaite and Tim Roth good. John C. Reily, is getting typecast, I'd like to see him do something different, but that said, he's good here. Jennifer Connelly's breakdown is the best part of the movie. Ariel Gade is very good, there were a few genuine moments for her.
In my opinion the direction is too fast paced, the creepy slowness of the story should have been played out slower, with less dialog and more just plain eerie events.
