Scary, tense, well-made and surprisingly emotional, 'The Eye' is one of the greatest Japanese horror movies ever made." One of the most well-made Japanese horror films of all time - that has unfortunately been remade (aka. dumbed down) for American audiences. A somewhat flawed, but still fantastic horror masterpiece. Don't waste your time on the terrible remake, with this film's incredible special effects and very modernized scares, there was really no reason to remake it and so now there's even less reason to see the remake.

Blind from the age of two, 20-year-old Hong Kong classical violinist Mun undergoes an eye transplant. At first, she is happy to have her sight restored, but is soon troubled when she starts to see mysterious figures that seem to foretell gruesome deaths.

What surprised me about this film was how incredibly poignant it was. This is a horror film that manages to be stern serious and terrifying, and emotional at the same time. This in an incredibly well-made horror film and truly a modern horror masterpiece.

See this one before you see the American remake, it's true that cultural difference can make this film hard to relate to some people on on some level, but honestly this movie it's worth it's time, so far the American remakes water down the plots...

See this one before you see the American remake, it's true that cultural difference can make this film hard to relate to some people on on some level, but honestly this movie it's worth it's time, so far the American remakes water down the plots and the pacing just to get the Sixth Sense" mood ala "the Ring", the ending is one of the best I've seen so far.
