Great sci-fi, action, and aliens. This movie's special effects are amazing!! Seriously!! But even though I like this movie, I still don't like Tom Cruise. Dakota Fanning is good though. Thrilling, action-packed, and just very well done.

You know a film is good when Morgan Freeman is in it (or his voice is used for a voice over). In my opinion, this is one of Tom Cruise's best films and shows audiences and fans that Steven Spielberg is still able to make a film that excites. A lot of people who saw this film didn't like it and hated it purely because Tom Cruise was in it. Those people tended not to have seen the film in the cinema though. By watching this film without surround sound, people aren't able to appreciate it as much (I am not slating people who cannot watch it with surround sound but in my opinion it is the only way to watch that film properly). Spielberg uses sound a lot in this film and it adds a lot to the viewing experience (particularly when the tripods sound their horns and walk). I think the story has been well adapted to the musical version of 'War of the Worlds' by Jeff Wayne. In most cases, a remake of a film tends to be worse than the original, but not this film. If you had seen the 1950s version of 'War of the Worlds' you would see how the remake is a lot scarier because it is set in modern times (references to the i-pod shows that). Modern day set films seem to be scarier because it allows the audience to relate to it easier (like the 'War of the Worlds'. My only criticism with 'War of the Worlds' by Steven Spielberg is that the aliens were shown. The film would have been a lot scarier if that feeling of mystery was maintained in the film about what was in the alien tripods. The 'War of the Worlds' is best viewed with decent sound but is still enjoyable without surround sound. It is worth a watch.

The horn that blows from the tripods can really be scary, The silence can make you nervous, and the music is great. The one thing I don't like about this movie is how it's so fast paced and then comes to a grinding halt during the scenes in the basement. I know a lot of stuff still happens in those scenes, but it just seems way to out of the pace of the rest of the movie.

Its indeed a blast for everyone to see and its purely good. This is horrorifying at its part. It's scary, intense and jaw-dropping. A definant popcorn movie for all audiences. War of the Worlds reunites superstar Tom Cruise and Academy Award -winning Steven Spielberg for one of the most awe-inspiring cinematics experiences of all time.

Based on the retelling novel of H.G Wells, including the original War of the Worlds back in 1953. Steven Spielberg creates the allusion of the classic and creates it into a satifying epic movie that will blow you away! The tale between aliens and humans was a perfect theme in this movie and its nostagia is through the roof. Some movies spoofed this movie,(Epic Movie) but the humour is underdone and not funny as it looks like.

Steven Spielberg went out to achieve the impossible and came out with a recreation of the original that is pure and true to the story in every detail. Everything from the struggles of mankind to the insanity of its populace. The scene that seems very powerful is when, the protagonist and his kids arrived to the ferry, and seeing many people cries for getting into the only car available is heartbreaking to watch. Spielberg captured these scenes with true amencity and absolutely stunting. Spielberg also took some liberties with the story, and made some right choices along the way. The powerful image is when the military resistance attacks the aliens with all they got, delivering a gripping and unimaginable major event. Its just powerful to see how Tom Cruise character and his kids survived all this mess and how they acted at the end. Its terrifying to observed what the aliens will do after they killed a denizen, spill all their blood everywhere, making a red field of blood. Spielberg directed a film that was considered, for a very long time, impossible to make, and not only for technical reasons. The narrative roots are incredibly long and detailed, and the storyline is deeply connected.

The starting of the movie to the end gives a powerful messenge to humanity. Narrated by Morgan Freeman, he delivers a gripping and absolutely stunting messenge. The narration of this movie seemed to be great and detailing it so the viewers will know whats going on. At the start, everything is it peace, Ray Ferrier, a short-tempered man played by Tom Cruise got visited by her wife and her astranged husband with her kids that will be visiting him. Everything went quite fine with the kids until, some kind of disturbance in the sky, striking lighting and thunder, terroristing everyone. All of the sudden everything electrical shuts down and everyone paniced through the streets. Ray finding whats the disturbance is, finds himself what seems to be a tripod. The Tripod activated and everyone was oblitered from its attack. Ray and his kids packed everything up and got into the only automoblie available, vacating the premises.

A contemporary retelling of H.G Well's classic, the sci-fi thriller reveals the extraordinary battle for the future of humankind throught the eyes of one American family. Fleeing from an extraterrestreial army of killer Tripods that annihilate everything in their path, Ray Ferrier (Cruise) races to keep his family safe. Its very derivative as it is. The struggles of mankind from an alien threat to the ending. Its very reciscent of Independence Day, where the weakness of the aliens is the sickness or the flu, knocking down their shields. But Independence Day might have copied H.G Wells classic. Even though its derivative towards Independence Day, its indeed satisflying to all.

War of the Worlds is an action-packed adventure that explodes with spectacular special effects. Special visual effects and animation by Industrial Light and Magic, they delivered the feel of about this movie. With stunting explosions of buildings, cars and everything. Its just amazing to watch it. The alien animation is much more better than Independence Day is abit. The casting is what effects this movie, Tom Cruise being the main protagonist is just pure wrong. Spielberg and Debra Zane and Terri Taylor made a bad decision. Miranda Otto(Lord of the Rings) is quite a good decision at her part. Morgan Freeman narrating at the beginning to the end, delivers everything from the voice to the mind. The other casting character is just fine. They acted quite good but not Tom Cruise as Ray Ferrier. But its great for Hollywood. The music performed by John Williams who did alot of famous and top-rated movies gives this movie, of a powerful orchestric score as the struggles of mankind to the aliens.

Overall, War of the Worlds delivers an astounding and gripping story. The whole ideal of this storyline is quite great and its part. Although the casting decisions is terrible, it feels just right if you ignore the protagonist and watch the spectacular and intense action sequences. The ending scratched many heads because the ending, its has no purpose of that, its a bit rushed and its a really short movie. I felt it was less than a hour. Its still a very good Sci-fi flick. Its closed to be abit better than Independence Day. The movie is quite a popcorn movie to enjoy, laugh and bear witness to the undeniable power of struggle of mankind and the invaders approaching. This is a Recommended Purchase. 8.5/10
