A thrill-seeking teen named Jake is initiated into a group of friends who have discovered the curse of a mysterious video tape. After watching the images on the tape, the viewer will befall an unexplained death seven days later but the teens have learned that they can cheat death by copying the tape and showing it to someone else. Jake discovers that none of his friends have made it past six days before copying the tape and breaking the curse so he decides that he'll be the first to experience "Day 7", a decision he may soon regret. This short film, directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Darkness Falls) and written by Ehren Kruger (The Ring), serves as a prologue to the motion picture The Ring Two where the fates of Jake and his friend Emily are revealed.
