The cover of the DVD scared me away because it proclaims it as a "Feel Good Movie", which is Hollywood buzz kill lingo for "Super Lame & Girly", but how wrong I was. I should have known, it's Anthony Hopkins after all! Well, I eventually buckled down and watched it. It's actually a great movie. There were times in the movie where the whole kindness of strangers thing seems really a bit unbelievable, but if anyone's gonna get that kind of reception on the road, it's gonna be Anthony Hopkins. He's just a likable guy, isn't he? Great actor. You could put him in as the head of the Lollipop Guild and he'd still steal the show and absolutely kill it. Anyways, cool story based on the life of a real guy who set some land-speed records on his modified Indian motorcycle...

Brilliant. A dazzling little tale about the single mindedness of a man's dream. Hopkins is unflinchingly perfect in this role. From frame one to the last you understand his desires, his resources and his slightly kiltered way of living. A man living in a garage sets world speed records, sounds crazy. The supporting cast is very well directed and given the right amount of room to play. Some of the characters are larger than life, yet strangely subtle, other characters are just a few stranded voices along his way. As for the camera work, it's not great, but borders on it at times. Some of the shots they tried for didn't quite seem to pan out (pun intended), but over all the work kept the story alive and most importantly, did an amazing job capturing Hopkins in his element. It's a movie about slowing down to go fast. It's make you laugh with tears.

I liked this film very much. Hopkins as the unbeatable Munro is, as always, superb. The story is inspiring and we can't help but love the tinkering hero who endears everyone he meets.
