Richie (Rick Gomez) escapes his impending wedding to pursue a boyhood dream. Teaming with his brother J.J. (Joshua Gomez) they attempt to rise to the top of America’s last great gladiatorial sport… the demolition derby. Richie races in three actual demolition derbies which, despite a fractured neck, culminate in a triumphant win just in time for Richie to attend his wedding ceremony. The result of a four month comedy improvisation, director/creator Damon Santostefano, creator/actor Rick Gomez and a group of actors penetrated New York’s demolition subculture and captured it as a documentary, resulting in a wild hybrid of fact and fiction.
