The departed has a pretty impressive cast with a pretty impressive storyline, which caught my attention immediately. I caught the movie in theaters and thought it was awesome! When a movie is more than 2 hours its bound to be really bad and boring or really good and entertaining - Departed is the later of the two. From start to finish Scoresese's newest movie delivers a fun ride and great performances by its all-star cast. I strongly recommend!!

What more can I say? The cast was unbelievable! The story was NEVER dull. The acting was superb. One of the best movies I have ever seen period

Scorsese makes another amazing film. Leonardo DiCaprio further dispels any doubt that he is one of our generations best actors. Just when you think Jack Nicholson is done trying he completely delivers.

Enough gushing - fluid from beginning to end. Lots of action, gripping suspense. I've never been so tempted to watch a movie twice in a row (except every time I turn on TNT).

The Departed has that rare quality among films: you can watch it time and time again and derive more enjoyment out of it with each viewing. The many expertly staged, edge-of-your-seat moments and the abundance of towering performances make this film one for the ages. Yes, I'm a sucker for Jack Nicholson in full-on scenery-chewing mode, but there were a slew of Oscar-worthy performances in this film- I even have to give the usually wooden Marky Mark props for his surprisingly good turn as Dignam. HBO has had this movie on endless repeats this month, but I've still found myself glued to the screen whenever it's on, especially during some of the most hard-hitting scenes. Maybe it's not Scorsese's crowning achievement (I'll leave it up to you to argue which film is; I can't decide) but it is a worthy addition to his body of work, and might just be the most purely entertaining film he has made to date.

A 5 star movie. This is a masterpiece. The perfect Story. A Mob Crime Boss has a rat in the Police force. And people are all trying to track him down while catching frank Costello. Great and a extremely Powerfull film.

The Departed is one of the rare films of the 21st century that deserves 5 stars. It is Martin Scorsese's best film since the masterpiece, GoodFellas. This is one of my favorite films of all time, and It was my favorite movie 0f 2006 and I was rooting for it to win Best Picture as it did.

Jack Nicholson plays crime boss Frank Costello. Frank's rat Collin (Matt Damon) joins the Massachussettes state Police Department as an informant for Costello. To their no avail, the dpartment sends their own informant (Leonardo DiCaprio), Billy Costigan, a native of South Boston. When both parties find out they have rats in their outfit, Collin and Billy must find each othe rin a deadly game of cat and mouse. Every performance in this film is Oscar worthy, especially Martin Sheen's. DiCaprio and Damon both give stellar performances, as does Nicholson and Mark Whalberg. The Departed is one of the great American Classics.

The film is great. The story is good but it's the end that I like the most. The film shows the real life of street mobs and criminals. It's very realistic, it wouldn't be so good if the actors weren't so good. Do me a favour and watch this film.

  It is intriguing to wonder what Scorsese saw in the Hong Kong movie that inspired him to make the second remake of his career (after "Cape Fear"). I think he instantly recognized that this story, at a buried level, brought two sides of his art and psyche into equal focus.
