The Gridiron gang is yes another football movie - but with it's true-story roots and fresh new storyline it's actually pretty good. The Gridiron Gang follows a bunch of teens who've been sent to juvenile detention centers and their boss ends up coaching them as a football team. As far as acting goes all the unknown teens do very well, The Rock does a pretty good job of portraying his real life counter-part while Xzibit does a decent job himself of blending in too. As the movie progressed I found myself getting into it more and more just waiting for certain events to happen and the movie delivers that satisfaction a few times. Even if you don't like football this movie will be entertaining I'm willing to bet you'll like it.

This may not be the family movie I thought is was going to be (a bit of language) but otherwise it sends a good message.

This movie shows how life is in the streets for some teens and unfortunately didn't open many eyes because of the reviews from critics.

Gridiron Gang is a very touching movie, that shows that young men who are locked up aren't losers after all. They just need to be shown the winning ways.
In this movie Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock plays a former college football player who is working at a Los Angeles County detention center. In this detention center there are many young men who have no direction in life. The coach turns to his supervisor and offers to coach a football team to give the young men some dicipline.
The team starts out poorly against a perennial power but gets progressively better throughout the season. Throughout the movie the young men lose their former gang ways and become "winners". There are many inspiring points throughout the movie, notably when the running back saves his teammate, who was formerly a member of a rival gang, from being shot.
Gridiron Gang is different from most other sports movies, it focuses more on the young men than the actual football. This movie is based on a true story and proves that young men who are involved in gangs can get away from the drugs and violence. They just need to be shown the way.

This movie is probably one of the best movies i have ever seen. Although it present the thought life of teenagers that live rough lives in "da' hood" i belives this movie is great beacuse of the ROCK which is great as an actor. I always thought that he was good in action movies but i never have imagined him in a movie where he does not fight anyone... after seening this movie i was amaysed by his performance as an actor. It is a very good movie even if it is explicit at some violence scenes (in the beginig of the movie).
