Gridiron Gang is a very touching movie, that shows that young men who are locked up aren't losers after all. They just need to be shown the winning ways.
In this movie Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock plays a former college football player who is working at a Los Angeles County detention center. In this detention center there are many young men who have no direction in life. The coach turns to his supervisor and offers to coach a football team to give the young men some dicipline.
The team starts out poorly against a perennial power but gets progressively better throughout the season. Throughout the movie the young men lose their former gang ways and become "winners". There are many inspiring points throughout the movie, notably when the running back saves his teammate, who was formerly a member of a rival gang, from being shot.
Gridiron Gang is different from most other sports movies, it focuses more on the young men than the actual football. This movie is based on a true story and proves that young men who are involved in gangs can get away from the drugs and violence. They just need to be shown the way.
