This film hardly followed the storyline in the book.
True there were one or two okay parts but overall this film was a complete dissapointment.

Eragon. I dont know about other people, but I would rather watch a 5 hour movie that includes alot other than a 2 hour movie that skims through the whole idea. First of all, the movie, according to a friend who has not read the book, was great. He said 9/10. I was looking forward to the Eragon movie for years, along with my friends. I love the book and the author. The movie killed the book. No... that is too light a word. The movie is like if the worst movie and the worst book bred, and then they found out they were related and had a baby without arms or legs, then they gave their first born baby to a gas company and they through it into toxic waste, that would be the Eragon movie compared to the book. The book would be an Angel. The movie gets half a star for animation. The animation is great, it would have been higher but they stole so much, its ruined. They could not possibly make Eldest. I very much hated this movie. I would not recommend it to anyone who has read the book unless you are used to disappointment.

Eragon or "How to Kill a Book". The movie was too short for a book that has more than 500 pages. They cut many important parts, they changed some characters personality (what the *** did they do to Angela?) and eliminated others (Solembum, are you there?). Things happened too fast and for me, the movie was a nightmare.
I talked to a friend who hasn't read the book and he told me he thought the movie was too fast and illogical.

A decent movie with some good action scenes and compelling characters, it's hard not to like Eragon. There are a few moments where the pace stops for some reason, and the character of the evil man's child is not explored until late. Also, few enemies pop up until we're near the end. This is probably due to laziness, because they know they can wait to bring more sequels from the books. There were also some moments where I couldn't understand anything. I'm sorry, the sound is just muddy, and it's got nothing to do with accents. Not a perfect movie, but makes for an amusing rental.

Her name is Saphira, she speaks with the voice of Rachel Weisz, and it doesn't matter that she's too young to breathe fire -- at first -- or that she waddles a bit on the ground, because she lives and breathes the joy of flight, which is exactly what was missing from most of Harry Potter's solos on a broom.
