A decent movie with some good action scenes and compelling characters, it's hard not to like Eragon. There are a few moments where the pace stops for some reason, and the character of the evil man's child is not explored until late. Also, few enemies pop up until we're near the end. This is probably due to laziness, because they know they can wait to bring more sequels from the books. There were also some moments where I couldn't understand anything. I'm sorry, the sound is just muddy, and it's got nothing to do with accents. Not a perfect movie, but makes for an amusing rental.

Eragon, The title of the movie remains the same as the main character, how unoriginal. What kind of name is that for a boy anyhow? Change 1 letter and you have the word dragon. I think we have a case of laziness on the part of the writer. This feels like every story we have heard since time began. Is it quite simply just another excuse to display breathtaking visuals? Which the film relies heavily upon. Loaded with clichés, uneventful scenes, and forgettable characters. The main focus of the movie should be the involvement of the dragon in the plot; however more emphasis is placed upon the boy, who fails all of our expectations of a charismatic, independent, virtuoso.
Thankfully the splendid design and animation of Sepheira captures the imagination and distracts from all that is lacking. This movie is a poor attempt at a fantasy of epic proportions, leaves the viewer dissatisfied, and uninspired, despite how stunning the dragon figure may appear. Still an entertaining excursion.

i liked the movie, as far as book movies go it was pretty good. though if you had readthe book you most likly will hate it, i read the book but after seeing the preveiws and how it was totally not like the book i decided to not even try to compare it. but the book was better, but the movie wasnt so bad it wasnt boring like harry potter was it just moved way to fast and some of the main charaters from the book had rather small parts. but the guy who played murtagh(i think i spelled that right) was hot!!! eragon wasnt so bad either but his mouth moved ugly.

  The star of this fantasy adventure for young audiences is a charmer from the moment she is hatched (from a huge blue egg that starts to rock like a Mexican jumping bean). Her name is Saphira, she speaks with the voice of Rachel Weisz, and it doesn't matter that she's too young to breathe fire -- at first -- or that she waddles a bit on the ground, because she lives and breathes the joy of flight, which is exactly what was missing from most of Harry Potter's solos on a broom.
