Different angle on the overdone story of hostage negotiating. I liked the character of Mars and Talley, but the kid got really annoying throughout the movie. Still, I like the story and most of the characters.

Hostage is a movie that is really set from the get go as an intense action flick. As said before, the rather intense beginning really sets the pace and it never lets up, and sadly, that is the major flaw of the film. There is absolutely no relief from what's going on, and there's a lot of tense scenes. But there is no relief, it doesn't take away the fact that Bruce Willis and Ben Foster do a fantastic job, and the action sequences are pretty well done. The story comes with another problem in the form as to Willis' motivation, by the mob, as it hints at something larger, but it never expands.

Overall, Hostage is a decent action movie that should be labeled the most intense film of the decade. But it's the fact that there's no relief from the action that ends up holding the movie back. If you don't believe that relief is the problem, then check out some of the good action movies of Die Hard and the Bond films and you'll find some well placed humor, which Hostage has none.

Well, I thought this was an ok type of movie. It was not that great. The story was good though, but I didnt like the movie that much! Bruce Willis acted really well in this movie. I liked him the best!
