The plot is intersting and the action is pretty good. The thing that made this movie so good for me were two actors/characters: Aramis (Jeremy Irons) and Porthos. Overall, it's one of my favorite movies because of the characters.

There are those that let power get the best of them. Unfortunately for Louis he had been raised thinking he was better than everyone and that nothing could hurt him, not even God Almighty. As for Philippe, he grew up in a simple life in the country, well taken care of.

The movie re-introduced all the characters again. Let us know what was happening in Paris, and the type of person the king was. We all want someone--the king, the queen, the president, etc.--who will do what is in the best interest of the people.

I love the movie!! Each actor portrayed his part sublimely! Louis/Philippe with his cocky, arrogant, self-involvement then flipping over to become unsure of himself, scared, loving, generous, and concerned for others; D'Artagnan with his honor, and secret fatherly rights denied; Athos with his grief, and revenge; Aramis with his fight to make their dreams a reality; and last but not least, Porthos with his "love for life."

My father scene is the last fight. When D'Artagnan tells Philippe and the other he is his father. Then, they charge the younger musketeers knowing they will fear them because of who these men are. After the smoke clears and you see they all survived. I will continue to watch this for years to come.
