A great film!!! Filled with great performances, writing, direction, and music, this is a great reason why christopher nolan is one of my favorite directors!!! Amazing!!! See it!!!!!

This film promised stunning magic effects and a great story...well I guess they failed on those goals ! Film is just about 1 damn "trick" noooooooooooooo one can do !...cr@p !

The acting, sets, direction, costumes, even the strange and bizarre Tesla is great.
The story, is good, but at times thin and very obvious. One of the great points of plot is the reading of the diaries and how each magician was a little smart then the other thought them capable of being.
See this movie for the dark, the magic, and the beautiful dialog, and of course the 'secret'.

Are you watching closely? This is another gem in the desert. You can't leave your seat when watching this movie. I wish there are more films about magician like this. Incredible!! :)

Prestige is one of the best films ever filmed. You can see how a difficult trick can easily be performed. If you didnt watch this film, do it now. Believe me :)

I hadn't heard of this film until my girlfriend showed it me all i had to do was read the back and i wanted to watch it. if you like SLEUTH with michael caine you'll like this film about a cat and mouse rivalry between 2 magicians who's friendship...

I hadn't heard of this film until my girlfriend showed it me all i had to do was read the back and i wanted to watch it. if you like SLEUTH with michael caine you'll like this film about a cat and mouse rivalry between 2 magicians who's friendship falls apart after the death of which wife dies on stage taking part in an trick. michael caine and christain bale continue their on screen partnership after batman begins and hugh jackman plays his part well too.

4.5/5 for me.

Wow! The film teaches us the turn, the pledge, and the prestige of any magic trick...those are the rules. The film follows the rivalry between two magicians and explains the turn about of fairplay as each tries to outdo the other. I was completely taken in by this story and by Bale and Jackman performances. They were heartbroken when they should have been and conniving when they needed to be. In the course of this story, you see that the prestige of the film is the devolution of Angiers and the revelation of Borden's secret. The juxtaposition of the two scenes...Borden's execution and Angiers' demise at the hands of Borden's twin...Fantastic! It's edited well together, perfect to heighten the suspense for the viewer. Some saw it coming. I didn't and therefore was completely shocked at the end. Beautiful, symmetrical, fantastic.

If you are distracted, I guarantee you will not be able to remember what is going on. I got lost very easily, and I had no distractions at all. I was dangerously close to falling asleep in the middle of the movie. The film itself is okay, but I've seen better movies with this kind of premise. Props to Christian Bale. Nice acting.
