A great performance by Renne Zellwegger and Russell Crowe. It is about boxer Jim Braddock and his struggle to help the family he loved. It is based in the Depression era and it shows you that no matter how hard things may get you can always over come them. The A+ story is backed with fantastic acting. A really fabulous movie!

Those that tell you that this is a film about boxing didn't understand the film at all. This isn't a film about boxing but the film is about a boxer. This is a film about a man's undying spirit and his dogged ability to fight his way back from a position where his family is nearly on the streets and they have very little to eat. When I remember this film two scenes oout of the many marvellous scenes stand out for me.. One was the scene where Jim goes to the club and passes his hat around to collect some money so he can pay his electricity bill. You can see that he'd rather do anything but this but his need to have his children back is stronger than his pride. The other one was in the restaraunt before the last fight. Max Baer says something like " Look at him.. hiding behind his wife's skirts." For a moment Jim just stands there and you think there is going to be a fight right there but then he just smiles and says. "Yeah, ain't she something?"

You can't help but fall in love with the character at this point.

it was a heart warming story it had a good actor it had a not bad script the thing that i liked was the directing and how they filmed it 4 out of 5

Going into this movie, I wasn't expecting much, except for a cut and dry story...I was fooled...It's a terrific movie, everything is great about it, and especially Paul Giamatti. Plus how this film wasn't even nominated for Best Picture, and something like Capote was, is just head scratching. This is great film, and also a feel-good movie. 10/10.

This movie is great. I was a little unsure since i thought it was another movie like "Rocky" or "Ali". Waht makes this movie great is its background. The film is set in the great depression and shows that a man who once had everything, suddenly lost everything and was struggling to take care of his family. Russell Crowe was great. I'm saying this and I can't stand him. Renee Zellweger didn't thrill me. She just didn't fit the part. Paul Giamatti was great and added comedy to the movie with a depressing topic. This is one of the best inspirational movies ever made.

This movie is awsome. Everyone should see this movie. The best boxing movie I have ever seen. The fights are really great and full of suspense that you can almost stand up and cheer Russel Crowe. Well, I nearly stood up. Its touching too. I nearly cried in one scene. Many fights in the movie. Thats the main and the main thing. Apart from that everything is great. This movie is perfect.

At the beginning I didn't like it. But as action began to happen I saw this movie had everything to be an excellent one. I don't enjoy box but I have to admit I enjoyed the film. Great actors and great story mixed with a lot of suspense.

A good touching movie. I just don't understand why is it that it did not get very well publicity in here! I think that the script was awesome, and Russell Crowe was another awesome adjustment to this great movie!!
