Xavier (Romain Duris) is a young French faculty student. To finalise his Economics degree he decides to go study for a year in Barcelona as part of the Erasmus programme leaving behind his mother, his girlfriend Martine (Audrey Tautou) and his life. Once in the Catalan capital things are far from being easy. But Xavier eventually finds a flat that he will share with fellow students from all four corners of Europe forcing him into new adventures and new ways of thinking and on the path to his new life.
