Amy Sedaris stars as an ex con, drug addict, (lesbian?) in her 40s, who comes home after years of being in the joint. She comes home to find her mother dead, father in a coma, her step-mom is a jerk, and her new brother is a school jock on the JV squatters team. She wants to try to go back to school right where she left off and prove herself to her father with a 32 year old coma. She tries this by competing in the science fair project, which splits the students into two groups, popular, and minorities. As the 46 year old failure tries to gain the acceptance of the populars.

I'm sure right now your thinking, "What the hell?" And that is what you will be thinking throughout the whole movie. It has very bad acting throughout, which is attempted to be funny, but fails miserably. I had hoped that since Stephen Colbert was in it it would atleast have some funny humor. Although he has a few funny scenes, none of them are funny enough to really make you laugh. The only one that gave me a laugh was the point that he was a science teacher that says he hit rock bottom and found the lord his savior, and that evolution is not true. A science teacher that puts down the teachings of evolution, go figure...

Overall, Strangers with Candy is not funny, or near the amount of laughs I had hoped. Definetly one of the worst movies i have seen in a long while.
