One of the greatest of the impossibly romanticized "biographies" to come out of Hollywood - with all the trappings. Every life event is an inspiration, every moment has some ulterior good for the man (and sometimes, country). Normally, I would just find it academically interesting.

However, knowing about George Cohen beforehand, a viewer might never think of James Cagney playing the part. And he plays it as Cagney in many respects. And in the highest testimony to a movie, people remember Cohen AS Cagney forever after. That, along with a good pacing of music makes this movie more fun than corny.

I really enjoy watching Yankee Doodle Dandy. I like the song and James Caganey did such a great job in this movie. I like how his character tell his story to President Franklin Roosevelt. It's a great movie to watch even on the 4th of July. I give...
