This film is weak as a comedy, and a number of the characters are very unlikeable, especially the normally easy to watch Justin Long...but....if you can get through the first 30 mins, the story of the film and the characters really start to improve .

The plot of a High School slacker who creates a fake University so that he and his friends can party on schoolarship fees from their parents is not a good plot idea, imo. But as the plot goes, and more people become part on the University, you start to realise aswell, as Justin Long's character, that this University is the only place that stands up for all those people that even though they have so much determination to improve their life by going to University, the pomposity of the University's wont give them a second look.

Basically it's a sweet tale that's kind of a mix of Revenge Of The Nerds and Muriel's Wedding, where despite their past wrongdoings, you can't help but cheer for the underdogs as they try to make a better life for themselves So to sum up.....an unconvential take on college films, but it manages to deliver a decent level of satisfaction to the audience by the time the final credits roll .
