What can be said about Road Warrior?
A post-apocolyptic world. A reluctant hero. A kick-ass car chase.
The story revolves around Max, our reluctant hero. For those of you who don't know the first film; Max was a policeman trying to keep the peace as much as possible in a world going mad. In the process he lost his wife and child to a biker gang and suffering this horrific event Max decides to mete out just to all involved and becomes a hollow shell of a man when all is done...
Queue the second film. After his revenge Max drives on with no real goal other than to keep driving, always needing fuel in a world where fuel is scarce. Along the way he gets forced into an agreement to save the working & inhabitants of one of the few oil refineries left. From here the story progresses brilliantly, adding lots of interesting characters into the mix along the way.
This is truly a film that will blow you socks off. With Gibson in what i consider his best work to date, with some stunning action scenes and an amazing story, Mad Max: The Road Warrior is a film that is almost impossible to watch just once. Worthy of anyones DVD collection.
